humm now this sounds interesting. I am not a palm person but it seems that Telus is getting some great phones in the new year.

...and the great thing is that most of the phones are going to be on HSPA. Which means they will be faster then Bell's current Pre.
mr-anderson

so TELUS is getting the HSPA Pre and CDMA Pixie?

Am I the only that thinks carriers are beating a dead horse with Palm devices? I mean I haven't heard anyone that's said a Pre or Pixi is going to be at the top of their shopping lists this year.

The Pixi is getting bad reviews and just released and is at already $25 some place????
I cannot see the palm Pixi doing well at all with all the other good devices telus has

looks like Palm is turning into a low cost manufacturer. Wicked OS but it's being overshadowed by cheap devices like the Pixi. bid sad. :(
they still will have the best lineup and phones that reach all audiences

I agree with you on the OS as it is really cool, but you just cannot help a company that basically built an industry but did not grow with it. Sad they are going to be out of business soon :(

lol true. Palm should have done a global release of the Pre, bring everyone on board at once.

I actually think they will stay in business for a while. It will be cool to see what they are working on now as their next phone

now that's a good point about what they are doing next, hopefully something bigger. wil be cool to see Palm on TELUS though

it's a shame that the hardware on the pre let the excellent WebOS down. It's a shame the new BB 9100 pearl will have wifi, and the pixi will not. That's a deal breaker for me.

imagine if webOS was in BB and if BB was in the design of the iPhone, then add on the openness of Android Perfect device.

I guess there's been no further news on this, more specifically the Pre.
I love the Pre and am looking forward to it, i've just been waiting to get my hands on a gsm model.
So Telus, please come through for me.

pre is now $0.00 so I am not sure how TELUS will come in at a price point, plus the Pixi has not had great reviews

I really hope soon
I've been waiting forever, and yes I could go to Bell but I'd never go CDMA

CDMA seems to be more stable from what I am reading :(

CDMA seems to be more stable from what I am reading :(
Just because only Sprint and Bell have the newest 1.3.5.1 update which made a HUGE improvement
gsm still running 1.3.1
it'll be even better when 1.4 comes out with video recording

will telus be releasing that when the pre/pixi launches?

webOS 1.4 is scheduled to be available in February. Even if it's shipped (if Telus is actually getting the pre, which I hope) you can easily download and install the update over the air.

are the rumours true that both of these are coming in Jan? If so I might consider the Pre

I think it will be available near the end of January, that's what I have read also. Nothing confirmed yet :(

I would think the only worthwhile phone between them is the Pre, Pixi just looks cheap

Telus has a good lineup for 2010 so far. the milestone will be the best though

Kronk86,
You seem to be a pretty good insider with TELUS. Are they still launching the Pre and Pixi this month?

It's been pretty quiet regarding the possibility of the Palm Pre and/or Pixi coming to Telus... anyone have any further new regarding this?

I don't think it would be wise for TELUS to release this, not sure if they will last

^ agree - would have been good if they launched it when it first came out. If they do it would be sad if they sold it for anything above $0.00 on a 3yr
I think there is a market for it. Even if they are both CDMA devices.
