Hi,

I've come across a guy who's selling a brand new iPhone 4 on an ad site. Price: $425. I think it's a pretty good deal, isn't it? He is telling me it's a replacement iPhone he's just got yesterday from the Apple Store when he returned his defective iPhone that was five months into the warranty. He has not used his brand new phone.

However, the iPhone is locked to TELUS. Now, I'm wondering why this iPhone is locked to a carrier because I was under the impression Apple Stores only sold unlocked devices. Was I wrong?

Also, are all replacement iPhones from Apple completely new or could the seller's brand new iPhone be a refurbished one? He says he doesn't know for sure, but he doesn't think it's a refurbished one.

Thanks.
