I am guessing this should be a $99 3 year contract phone not too bad for an entry blackberry for new users.

It's been an interesting evolution for Blackberry. From the trackwheel, to the trackball, and now the trackpad (let's forget about SurePress for the moment). A lot of people are going to complain about having to get used to this for playing BrickBreaker :D

it does look good, a nice addition. if it comes in at 99 bucks this will sell very well

I have seen online that this BB comes in 3 colours - Black, Frost and Violet! Has anyone heard, what colours Rogers will be selling? I'm assuming Black for sure, but it would be nice if they got the violet or even frost :)

I've heard a white version may be coming? Is this the "frost" you speak

westview

I'm not really sure if the white is considered the frost. In the pictures I've seen online the frost looks white but it is described more as light blue. I'd actually be happier with a white over frost!!

how is this different then the 8900 Curve? It seems like Rogers has two next gen Curves while none of the other carriers have one at all, just the old 8300 series Curve.

the 8520 is good, but 8900 is better. 9700 sounds better than all of them though

How come this is such a low price to start for a BlackBerry? $99 on a 3-year is good no?
What's wrong with this BB?

Nothing is wrong with it, but it's no BB Tour or Bold. It's not even an 8900 for that matter.

The 8520 is like the old curve. Nothing special, but still gets the job done.

It's a good entry level Blackberry.

i was excited to check out the new lavender 8520. Unfortunatley when I went to Rogers, they did have the dummy model available but I was told Rogers may not be launching the lavendar at all. They only had stock of the black!

I really did like the lavender, it would have persuaded me to finally get a blackberry !
