trimming starts today.

"Telus Corp. is laying off 50 staff in Calgary and the same number in Edmonton as it shuts down Alberta call centres that provide contracted services to non-Telus phone companies.

The telecommunications company confirmed Thursday afternoon that managers met with the 100 staff, most entry-level employees on temporary contracts, to let them know they would no longer be needed.

The work they do now will be transferred to larger offices in Rimouski and Montreal, Que. and New Westminster, B.C."

that's nothing big. entry level people who were not really even part of the company.

I would disagree. They were apart of TELUS and most have been there for years, regardless of their 'temp' status.

I'm sure if your job was cut, you wouldn't be as willing to just brush it off.

A little respect people. I'm sure that some of them are reading this thread.

It's never fun to be laidoff.

There have been more than just these call centre cuts. Very few departments haven't gone through zero layoffs.
