Hi everyone.
I started working for a Canadian mobile carrier and they pay me my cellphone line with unlimited data plan. So now I need to choose wich smartphone I'll use.
After completing formation on different cellphone, I manage to narrow the BB Bold 9900 and BB Torch 9860 as really good, quality cellphone.
But from now on, I can't decide wich of the two I'll take. Does you have some experience with these cellphones? Does the virtual keyboard of the 9860 can catch up with Android and iOs ones?
Criteria for my selection were:
1) Quality of the screen (Sharpness, DPI and brightness under sunlight)
2) E-Mail functionality (Push e-mail)
3) Quality of camera (Responsivness, Quality of picture)
4) Quality of interface (Graphics, userability)
These are all caracteristics of the new BB models but none of them help me to decide between Bold and Torch.
What do you think? :)

It really comes down to what you value more. The phsyical keyboard or the larger screen.
In terms of typing on the virtual keyboard, it just takes time to adjust. Based on my usage and comparing with other OS / Devices, the BB virtual keyboard on the 9860 is on par with its competition

I would use the Bold, the virtual keyboard on the all touch screen Torch is terrible.

Hey there.
I think the Bold 9900 is a really solid choice. I'm using it now, and I switched from an iPhone 4 and I love this phone. The main reason; it just works.
The screen quality is excellent, you won't be disappointed.
Email is AWESOME. It pushes everything, no matter what type of email account you have, you can send/receive anywhere. When I was using my Shaw email account on my iPhone I had to switch server settings from when I was on 3G to when I was on WiFi. BB, no need to.
Call quality and texting/bbming are also really strong.
No complaints about this phone, I highly recommend it!

I don't have either model and currently use an 8310 Curve. I would swap it out for the 9900 Bold though (in a heartbeat) - if I had half a chance :)

I would get the Bold 9900. It is the premier BlackBerry out there righ now. Nothing can beat that awesom keyboard, so if you text, bbm and write a lot of your emails on your phone then the BB Bold 9900 is the phone for you.
If you watch a lot of movies on your phone I would get the Torch 9860. Keep in mind it does have a plastic screen which could be prone to scratching, so cover that up with a screen protector ASAP!
The web surfing on both is easy imo because of the touch screen and pinch to zoom.
I have a 9800 and my son just got a 9900 that i have spent some time playing with.
Personally, I far prefer the 9900, but that is mostly due to the larger keyboard. I have pretty small hands and i still find the 9800 hard to type with. My wife has a 9800 as well and with her fingernails, she basically can't type on it at all.
The virtual keyboard (and touchscreen in general) is pretty awful on the 9800, but it might be better on the new version. I had a galaxy vibrant for a while and loved the touchscreen on that, so that is what i would consider a good baseline.

On the 9860 I think it would be way easier to type on the virtual keyboard. The 9810 and 9800 have a 3.2" screen while the 9860 has a 3.7". It really does make all the difference.
But I love my Bold 9900 so much, I will never get over how good that keyboard is!
