as a student in alberta i have noticed
alot of kids who have solo mobile as their current
cell phone provider, but what bugs me most is the current
pricing on phones, especially the Blackberry Pearl 8130
which is at a rediculous price of 250$ on a three year plan!
And to add to this, blackberry bundles are at a minimum of
45$ with only 100 anytime minutes and no mobile browsing!

isn't it more worth it to go with bell telus or even rogers
as a provider for a smartphone? with a 0$ blackberry on a three year term
with probably better service than solo, it is best to go with a monthy plan that is 5$ more with telus, bell, or rogers. It all adds up.
but for now, im stuck with Solo... :(

who thinks that Solo needs cheaper data plans,
along with newer phones at cheaper prices?

I agree with you on that.. It should be at very least the same as intro price as virgin...

I second that, Solo is supposed to be one for those budget brands that was introduced by Bell. It should be competing with Virgin, Fido with their plans not with the heavy hitters like TELUS, Rogers, Bell with pricing and plans. Atleast give some data with the $45 package

have to agree with all that has been said. solo has priced itself out of the competitive "budget" brand with the blackberry and rate plans.

Virgin is the only true discount blackberry operator. Solo is ridiculous, Fido hasn't jumped in yet, and Koodo won't ever.

You can get the Pearl for free with a data plan at most Solo kiosks/Wireless waves. It's only $250 on a 3 year without a data plan, but all smartphones are expensive without data plans.

if thats the case they should advertise it better, cause they are definitely turning off tons of customers. I still Virgin is the best, but thats just me :)

Do you still think Virgin is the best after the rate increases?
I know it does not impact current customers (before Feb 2) but seems like they are becoming like everyone else...

Black Berry, which makes heavy use of the many specialized input devices available on the phones, particularly the scroll wheel or more recently the trackball and track pad .
