The shape is different than the Dare, but the specs are very similar (Touchscreen, EVDO, 2MP camera, media player). Comes with a stylus.

Yeah, it feels pretty good in the hand. I like to think of it as an Instinct alternative in the Bell line-up. Next to the Dare, it's still the same guts with a softer look.

Just typed with the thing at my local Bell Aliant store. Types much better than I feared after hearing about typing on the dare. I liked it. I think I will buy it tomorrow. They couldn't sell it to me today. That's right I am returning my Blackberry Tour for the LG Bliss. I am insane .

I think this maybe a historic first that somebody downgrades from a BB, usually these days people upgrade. LG should give you a free phone for that move. :)

Good question before you return it is the Bliss something you'll be comfortable for a few years? (depending on what contact/no contract you go with)

I know what you are saying. That's my dilemma. I started another post on her and now basically I am trying to decide between the Vice and this. I don't want the tour due to the expensive data plan. Nothing against the Tour, it's just not a sweet enough phone to justify the monthly cost. I have typed on both the Vice and the Bliss and I did better on the Bliss. I wish mobile syrup would throw up some thoughts on the Bliss to help me choose. My god it looks like a little girls phone but the interface and the touchscreen were decent.
It's still not even on the Bell site yet...
It will prob. Be on the site in a couple
hours :)

Decent touchscreen feature phone, same interface used for the LG Voyager as well. I personally find the Instinct to be more solid, responsive, and a better typing experience.
at least it's ok priced though at 79 bucks, but not sure if it would last me a long time. How does it compare to the Dare?

Ok so after returning Tour for the Bliss I have returned the Bliss for the Samsung Vice. At first I thought I could live with the touchscreen texting keyboard but after a week I am done. I find the KB on my Ipod Touch quite excellent, the Bliss not so much. No auto-correction whatsoever and navigation within a message is aggravating. I could go on with a more in depth review, maybe tomorrow.

what else did you not like about the Bliss? How much different is the touchscreen, is it the response, small screen?

Ok a bit more on my Bliss Experience...
As you know I returned it for a Samsung Vice, and here are my reasons:
--Text entry was brutal, I can handle the touchscreen but the lack of auto correction is a killer. It's a fairly small keyboard layout and mistakes a frequent. I know they give you a stylus and I imagine it helps, but they phone is dinky enough looking without a stylus that looks like a mascara case dangling from it.
--Fixing a mistake. Once you make a mistake and try to navigate back in the message to fix it, your in for a real treat. The lack of any physical directional pad combined with the inaccuracy of the touchscreen making it ipossible to place you cursor in the right place via fingertip to backspace.
--Passwords. Like you'd expect the password are stars but that's it. It's not like my touch where you get 0.5 seconds to each character as you type. I owned it a week and never got into my FB or gmail with the thing due to incorrect passwords.
--False confirmation. You press a key and the letter kinda hovers above your finger a la the ipod touch, and you even get haptic feedback as you type. But once you look at your message you realize half the keystrokes did not register.
--Web kinda sucks on this, I mean I realize it's a phone, but even the vice handles things better.
--Direct sunlight makes it hard to see what you are doing, and since you need the screen even to dial, it's kind of a pain.
--It looks girly, flowers on the battery (not that anyone will know) the back of the thing is sparkly and also the mascara looking stylus doesn't help. You better be secure in your manliness if you are gonna own this thing.
Somethings I did like:
--The calendar is nice, it even lets you set a daily re occurrence that doesn't happen every day, but in my instance every 9th day.
--Nice big viewing area.
--Text alerts work well.
The customizable home screens are a nice feature but aren't as customizable as you think.
I would welcome any more questions.

I bought this phone the day it came out to replace my HTC Touch.
So far I like the phone but have been disappointed by a couple of things.
The phone has a nice browser that comes included however it is still no where as good as the Opera Mini browser. I installed Opera Mini on this phone and have a problem where the Browser it self works, but My keyboard doesn't show up on the touch screen which prevents me from being allowed to enter in URLS and actually visit any sites other then the default bookmarks. So Opera Mini at this time is competly useless on the phone.
The second problem I have is Bell wants to charge me $8 per month to access Hotmail and Gmail through the provided e-mail application. This use to cost me nothing to access using my software on the HTC touch and also I was able to install G-Mail and use it freely. Bell store rep hid this fact from me and I can't even return my phone now since i've exceeded the 30 minutes of talk time. So now I have to pay $8 a month to access my e-mails from hotmail and g-mail accounts.
This phone also doesn't let you install, Goolgle maps, G-Mail App or any other google applications. The GPS software that's included with the phone costs $10 per month to use. Bell also have blocked the right to install 3rd party software on this phone as well. I have tried installing free GPS apps that work with these LG phones, however some sort of BELL firewall blocks your abilty to even downloads these free GPS applications. So be prepared to actually pay to use GPS on your phone as Bell has decided to kill competition with this firewall.
THe pros of this phone are a great layout, quick load up times, fast application launches and the phone doesn't crash or slow down. The touch screen keyboard i find to be even better then the iphone. This could have been a really good Bell product if they hadn't put so many application restrictions and dumb charges on this phone.
Let me know about your experainces with the phone,
Take Care,
TruePhone

So Far everywhere I have looked online the LG Bliss has received horrible reviews. I beleive these reviews are negative in nature based on Bell's Decision to nickel and dime their customers to death with this phones(LG BLISS) options. Besides hitting the call and end call button, every other application and program on the LG Bliss costs big money to use. They advertise these as the phones options, however its only the case if you want to pay $200/month to have all of them activated.......Meanwhile a Black Berry from Rogers with a $25 data package allows you to do more then anything this phone or any other bell phone can do, with no other hidden costs. Bell has to kick it self in the head and re-think how they lock these phones down. I can't even put a ringtone on the LG Bliss without having to pay Bell to download it when Rogers phones give you data cable to drag and drop them cost free.
I am stuck with bell and this phone for 3 years, make sure you are not a victim of Bell Mobility lies, both instore and over the phone. They will not let me return the phone because I exceeded 30minutes of talk time on the phone. I have been told by bell that i have to pay $400 to buy my self out of my contract now because I have a crappy LG Bliss phone I'm unhappy with.
If I had paid $279 last week for the phone and signed no contract with bell, I could have canceled. But because I signed a 3 year deal and paid only $79 dollars for the LG Bliss, I now have to pay BELL Mobility $400 dollars to get out of a contract where they are the ones that can't provide me proper service. LG Bliss is trash, so is Bell's customer service, Stay away or go get burned by the new Palm Pre.......same Trash as LG Bliss.

Buy it and let us know what you think.....the other writer has a point, why pay $8 for e-mail application use and $10 for mobile browser on this phone for a total of $18 dollars when it is still handicapped against a BlackBerry which will only cost an extra $25 dollars. Might want to look into Fido deals on an IPhone, they seem really attractive now. This is a wanna be iphone that falls far short and with Bell's additional restrictions on the LG Bliss it is almost a disgrace to own.

If you did some research then you shouldn't have expected the Bliss to replace a BB, I actually returned my Tour for the Bliss, then promptly returned the Bliss for the Vice...lol. I still think the Bliss is a pretty bad phone and it has nothing to do with Bell and what they lock down. I know how Bell is and I know what they do and do not charge for. My main reason for sticking with Bell is my 22 dollar credit towards my mobility bill I get every month for having the old Aliant value pack oh and also the coverage. It's either Bell or Telus for me given the poor Rogers coverage in my area.

I didn't buy the LG Bliss thinking it was a blackberry, I bought the phone to replace my HTC Touch which could do a lot more then the LG Bliss can. Some of the things the HTC Touch did, Bell Charges you money to do on the LG Bliss. My point is, on rogers people pay 25 bucks for data to have a BB that can do everything....... that is only 7 dollars more then what I pay to be able to do not even half the things in extremely poor quality.
With the LG Bliss I made the mistake and am now stuck in this contract for 3 years or until Bell Mobility Extortion Experts get their $400 dollars from me to spare my life. I honestly feel Bell Mobility has put a gun to my head in the last 2 weeks, they pressure me into a contract which I can't get out of the very next day unless I pay $400. Bell Mobility needs to be looked into by a Federal Government Watchdog.

Whenever you buy something, you should probably read the return policies. No one put anything to you head but you.

Why can't you return it under buyers remorse? I did with no problems, did that with the Tour and the Bliss, although I think they have labeled me a term risk so I may be out of buyers remorse returns. Sorry if I sounded condescending before. You should really try returning the stupid thing.

I used my 30 minutes allowed under the return policy on my way home after I bought the phone. I had to contact some family members as there was somewhat of a family emergancy that day. By the next day I was way over the 30 minutes usage allowed to return a phone. The bell representative over the phone told me to look on my contract, it states return policy of 14 days or 30minutes talktime, whichever comes first. They refuse to do anything. My phone is a useless brick. I will try to call them again maybe tommorow and ask for someone in management to call me. This LG Bliss sucks and the sales people falsely hyped it up to me to make the 3 year contract final.
