This says the LGP999 and LGP990HN are ready for an update. Anyone know which one?

There was a fix it update released , to take care of some general problems that everyone had. The official gingerbread update hasn't been released yet officially , but you can always hop on to xda forums and get it from there. Make sure you read the post carefully to see if there are any issues, also if you got your lg 2x from wind its the tmobile version called g2x, not o2x.

I recommend cyanogenmod if you want to move to gingerbread on the g2x. It is probably the most stable out there by far.. just a warning though any time you root a phone it does void the warranty so if you brick your phone or screw something up its your fault and no one will exchange it for you

apparently we can get T-mobiles gingerbread without rooting.

but it comes with t-mobile's bloatware, including nova :)
