Could I buy a Samsung Galaxy S2 from Bell on no contract, unlock it, and have it run just fine on Koodo's network? Has anyone tried this?

Thanks

Can't I just unlock it using a program from the vast and everknowing internet?

You might as well spend the extra $30-$50 and buy a factory unlocked phone off of flea bay (eBay). Save the hassle and trouble of unlocking a provider locked phone.

I plan on doing this very thing soon.

If it was only $35 more to buy off of ebay. But buying and unlocking from bell for me will be $650 including. The cheapest I can really find on ebay is around $700-800 not including GST and shipping.

I've heard that the Galaxy S2 works ok on koodo by searching the internet, but it is hard to find.

This is the company I've been looking at to unlock http://www.mobileincanada.com/

OoooOoo. Thanks for showing me that site!! They look quite reliable, and a great price, without having to deal with Bell apps they put on.
Thanks!

Thanks, I might just buy it from these guys. So all I would have to do after buying this would be buy a koodo sim card (and work out the plan details) and insert it?

No problem. If Telus doesn't put out a superphone soon I will be buying one too. LOL :)

There's always the option to wait to see how good the Nexus Prime and Hercules are though.

I already have a Fascinate 4g is on the way on the way to hold me over until spring/summer next year (my blackberry 8330 is dying) when the quad core phones are announced, I will buy one at that time and unlock it if Telus doesn't carry one I want.

I will be glad to get rid of this Fascinate too. Bad echo in ear piece, failed text/pic messaging, fails to connect to mobile data a lot, random reboots.
