Hi,

Can anyone comment on the amount of bloatware on the Bell and Virgin Samsung Galaxy S 2?

I'd like to pick one up and unlock it so I want to know which one has less bloatware so I don't have to root it and get rid of it all.

Thanks!

so....burger has pickles, one has more than the other, but you hate pickles anyhow.....?

i'd just root from the sounds of what you want, bloatware is bloatware

Haha, not quite. When I got my Galaxy S it had some Rogers apps on it but there were only a few and they were non-intrusive and didn't bog down the system. The AT&T version of the Galaxy S had a whole whack of crap installed and stuff that ran in the background, etc. and chewed up a lot of resources.

So, I don't mind a pickle or two provided you can't taste them all that much. But I don't want so many pickles that they overpower the burger and you can't taste anything but pickles ;)

Heh just got an s2 from virgin, other than an app for bell remote pvr, ironically enough, not too bad in bloatware. I am planning to unlock and clean it out, but so far I'm quite happy not being bogged down with more than one or two apps I don't need. Doesn't seem to be a theme/bloat that is virgin specific. Quite satisfied.

Cheers

My Virgin version has an app for Zoompass - which might be like PayPal for Canadian cell-phone carriers.

It has an app for account administration. Can't use it on wifi.

It has a big, ugly widgit up front for "Tunes & Apps." I have not figured out what that does, but I could move it off the front home page.

I also have the Bell PVR app.

Get a screen protector if you get this phone.
