Wow a 4GB iPhone for $99 would fit the Fido target market.

Also Fido getting handsets like the Curve 8320 and the E71. I see Rogers moving the 8320 to Fido and replacing in on Rogers with the upcoming 8500 series BB. The E71 has got the great reviews and looks like a solid phone, features that can compare to some higher end phones.

I hope this is true, could be a great boost for Fido.

yeah but the 3 year contract takes away from Fido's marketing lower costs/lower contracts.

All that sounds a little off what Fido has shown lately, but who knows... the time will show, right? :P

is there even a 4GB iPhone made by apple? Also, remember that the E71 was supposed to come to Fido from the start, then got pulled to Rogers. So it could be going back. Some of these look too high class for low class Fido

time will tell if those are actually coming to Fido. Some of those are too expensive. A BlackBerry 8320 on Fido? I could see it as it's the older models and not the new style. Just seems odd that they would be pushing these data devices when majority of their phones are under $50.

The only one that is above the $50 mark is the Neon at $65. And the only reason it got bumped up in cost this week is due to low stock and people want it.

I think they'll offer the smartphones because they already have a smartphone offering and the competition does not. Solo is down to offering just the Pearl 8130 and Koodo has no smartphones at all. I guess rogers figures that it can make more money offering older smartphones on Fido to attract people that wouldn't be a Rogers customer. I think their data rates are almost the same between Fido and Rogers.

Nothing confirmed, doesn't look like an official presentation.

I have a feeling the 4Gb version will be for pay as you go or prepaid for AT&T and Rogers is just scooping it up and feeding the scraps to Fido. I don't believe the pics are real but I am not doubting that a lower 4GB version will be coming out.

I'm surprised by this. Apple has never aimed at the low end before. Not really their target customer.

For those who don't believe the original poster, they are right....kinda.

Apple has been fooling around with the idea of a 4Gb iPhone. Since Rogers is the only carrier in Canada that has GSM/HSPA currently, it would make sense for it to go to them/Fido.

I don't know if you all remember, but the 8gb iPhone sold pretty well with Fido, but the 16gb did not. They pulled it off Fido shelves after about 6 months.

4gb coming to Fido you ask? I say more than likely yes.

we could find out today if this is true or not?
Isn't apple announcing the new iPhone at 1pm or so?
