for those who word at Telus, is this how your inventory system looks?

alphonse101
04-30-2009, 06:22 AM
Sadly yes :) at least it has in the last 5 years. But then again, it's only an inventory screen so no need to look better than that.

If I might add something (as I browse a lot in the system to find out upcoming models...) if only accessories appears in the system, it still can take a while before it comes out. (usually appears accessories first, then the SWAP unit SKU, then the handset SKU). I might thinking end of summer / Back to school.

(other smartphones coming in soon by the way, but nothing to be exited about...)

That is all i will say for now.

I wonder if TELUS put that up there just to keep public interest going. Lots of devices will be availbale over the next couple weeks.

I know Telus is planning this big secret network launch in Q3-Q4... its a pretty big gamble that I think is going to fail miserably.

Its not going to matter what devices they have or are going to get... everyone is going to be already locked into 3 year agreements on Rogers / Bell. I doubt people are going to start eating $400 ECFs to go GSM and get the same/similar plan and the same/similar phone if they're already GSM.

IMO, they screwed this one up by waiting until the end of 2009 to try to launch a GSM network.

But back on topic, the Tour looks like a pretty decent phone for Telus, and if they hope to have ANY shot this summer of making any money, they're going to have to launch something fast because we have/are/will continue to scoop up tons of Telus customers!!

Sad thing is, all the providers (north and south of the border) will be using these prices.

urbnlgcy

The value you get really depends on what you're going to use it for. If it's for business use, most people tend to go for Blackberry. If it's for random apps, the iPhone currently reigns supreme. Android and webOS have great potential, but are still young. Either way, the a refreshed CDMA Blackberry is long overdue.

Cause Rogers doesn't have this phone? You are thinking about the BB Curve 8900. This phone is about 10x better the model is 9620. Arguably better than the BB Bold 9000 as well.

It is a bit smaller, but i would pick the Tour over the Bold any day of the week.

I am a bit curious. What does it have that is this interesting. I also had the chance to hold it, unfortunatly only for a few minutes, but other than the form factor (that actually charmed me) I did not see much difference compared to the curve. But then so far, I would trade this for my Pearl.

I liked it because of it's form factor. The BB OS loads a lot faster then previous models as well. It has OS 4.7 not 4.5 like the curve.
