I noticed that North Coquitlam and Port Coquitlam area has quite bad and sometimes no service. I was told that there is a new tower for N. Coquitlam/WestWood Plateau area but it is now operational yet. Wonder how long before we get service in these area's?

Its anoying how Wind had the expansions planned for end of last year and here we are half year later and still no expansion into lower mainland. They had a brochure that showed the expansion zones and it covered all of Coquitlam and all the way to Maple Ridge, it said they should have this by Dec 2010. Wonder if they are focusing more in other cities across Canada since they got good amount of customers here in Vancouver.

Check out http://www.coveragemapper.com/windmap2.php for coverage in your area if anyone has mapped there. This is a crowd sourced third party map.

And no they are not out of money, they have a huge backing (http://news.slashdot.org/story/11/03/17/2116210/Russias-VimpelCom-Buys-Wind-Mobile-In-Canada)

margo, please read up on the finances for Wind and where they are located, as well as what they are allowed to utilize for the canadian market before posting that link all over.

The problem was:
-They expected to have more customers
-they started losing money

They needed a cheaper plan so:
-they fired Canadians and Hired Egyptians
-Stopped all TV ads, Started transit, newspapers and less Radio ads.
-Slowed expansion

WIND is not bankrupt.
Their investors (Orascom) just recently agreed to give them more money...
But it's to finally absorb Yak under the WIND Mobile name and expand internet and home phone lines.

As Tony has said: Wind is here to stay.

they may have agreed to whatever, but they can't bring the funds into Canada. That's part of the agreement they have in order to stay operational......
