Does anyone know if Fido will be getting the iPhone 4S? I don't see why not, since they've been offering iPhone since 3G.
Well first of all there is no iPhone 4S yet and there are quite a few rumors saying there won't be a new iPhone until September. But I'm pretty much 100% sure that fido will get the new iPhone once it is released. Like you said they have been offering the iPhone since the iPhone 3G so there is really no reason that they wouldn't get the 4S.

Yeah I think they will get it. I heard you can pre-order Iphone 4S today if you are existing Fido and rogers customer.

you can reserve one now. I saw that the Iphone 4 8GB was available in the reservations, but none of the sales reps know anything about it! Kinda dissapointing when they don't update the staff on a new product launch. I am off contract with Fido now, and not sure if I should stay or abandon ship for another carrier, ant thoughts?

I don't think there's an Iphone 4S 8GB though.

No there isn't a 4S 8GB, but there is a 4 8GB. it's up on Fido site now!

If you can't find a 4S anywhere, we've got a couple in stock here in Cornwall, ON.

I was thinking of buying an iPhone and using it on Fido prepaid. I won't have a data plan, but will my phone still display 3G top left for texting and calling?

My girlfriend has a Samsung Gravity T with Bell -- your basic texting and calling phone -- and she has data turned off. Yet, 3G is always displayed next to her reception bars. How come?

"3G" doesn't just mean data. A 3G network is how the phone makes phone calls too.

I was on a monthly plan with Fido when I decided to do a HUP and upgrade to a 8GB iPhone with a contract. Heres the problem, Im 99 sure I went with a 2-yr contract and Fido is now saying its a 3-yr contract. Theyve claimed its not even possible and NEVER been possible to get the iPhone with a 2-year contract. Anyone here also have a 2-yr contract w/ iPhone?

What they told you is true, iPhones never been offered on a 2 year term.
