Good day to all!

This could be a dumb question, but does anybody knows an alternative to sync a Win Mobile device with a computer, other than with active sync.

As far as I know, even though active sync is included with the device, you can't manage or back-up your contacts and calendar if you don't have Outlook.

I have found PPC PIM backup that allows you to create a backup file on a memory card, but I wanted to know if there was other alternatives.

Thanks!

well a friend of mine suggested you try and look into oggsync, goosync beta. Those would be a few options for you but there are other programs that you could sync with but over the air. Check out Dashwire as well, they backup all your mobile content to their servers

Have a look at Mobical (https://www.mobical.net/mobical/startpage/index.jsp?page=howitworks&tab=about) it's OTA, i used it with some Nokias but never with any WinMo devices but the support is there. I'm a Linux user.

Thanks you all for the suggestions.

By far, I think Dashwire is exactly what I was looking for. I just installed it on my treo 700wx (yes I know, I am due for a newer model, but hey, it does not crash as much as some other HTC models...)

I was instantly sold, after 10 minutes of use. Very simple, although I wonder how much data it might take (probably not much if you dont sync pictures)

At least now I have an alternative to offer for my clients if, like me, they don't have Outlook installed.
