I am quite comfortable with their service.
But you may want to check your area's coverage before going all out: http://www.coveragemapper.com/windmap.php
Find your neighbourhood or closest tower.
If your neigbourhood is in any shade of green, Welcome to WIND!
If your neighbourhood is black or red... might want to check your closest towers as information MAY not have been updated.
If your neighbourhood hasn't been coloured yet check for the closest tower and make an educated guess.
OR
Ask a WIND specialist.

I signed up a couple months ago and had ok service here in SW Calgary. The last couple of weeks the reception is terrible. Most days I can't even get Wind Home, all I get is Wind Away from my house. Getting very pissed right now, because up till the past couple weeks, things were acceptable. i.e. 3 bars and Wind Home. Not any more.

Don't get wind mobile.. that half duplex problem is absolutely ridiculous and they deny it exists.
I have spent hours on the phone with the horrible CSR to be told its my phone even though Me, my father and my girlfriend are all experiencing this problem and we all have different phone models.
I would suggest going with mobilicity or chatr for a budget plan. Unless you want to be told you are hearing things and there is no problem and such.

HD voice only works with an HD voice compatible phone on an HD voice compatible network. So an hd voice phone on orange (uk) from your HD voice phone on WIND will be an HD VOICE call.

I'm in Evergreen in SW Calgary, and the signal is 1-2 bars tops. Only if I go to the upstairs room of my house does it go to 3 bars.

I have been quite happy with their service thus far; better than I had expected it to be. I live in central Toronto and have never gone Wind Away within the city borders so far (noting I spend most of my time in the denser and probably better covered areas of the city). I have never experienced a dropped call and my data service seems very fast to me, as it is fasted than my old DSL internet.
I did have a lot of trouble trying to port over a land line number. They told me to expect the process to take 2 weeks. I waited 3 weeks and called to ask what the status was and they told me the transfer was confirmed and they are waiting for my old provider. After 6 weeks of waiting and calling they told me the porting was cancelled and, if I wanted to try porting again, that I would lose my holiday miracle plan. I chose to get a new number instead and forgo the porting.
I lated had some technical problems trying to switch from a pay before to a pay after account, which was frustrating because it involved a lot of waiting to speak to back-office people, a lot of disconnections, and a repeatedly explaining my situation to clueless representatives.
But, now that all the bumps appeared to have been ironed out, I am very satisfied with Wind. I am saving a considerable amount over my previous phone and internet setup, and it is overall superior service. I often recommend Wind to my friends and co-workers.

Hi , SW Calgary ( Silverado Community ) if you are south of Silverado Way you get a WEAK or even NO signal . Almost the same situation WEST of Silverado Drive . If you call CSR and you are lucky to get one located in Egypt , you are lost 100 % . They are polite but helpless . If you get one located in Canada at least you can have your Case ID escalated to a higher level . If you use their Network Builder ( on Wind's website ) you get no clue if somebody is looking actually after that case or not as you do not get a reference number for your complain .
In downtown Calgary , you get a resonable signal .

Check out http://www.coveragemapper.com/windmap2.php for coverage in your area if anyone has mapped there. This is a crowd sourced third party map. The markers are tower placements (if you dont want that then go http://www.coveragemapper.com/map.php?mccmnc=302490)

my father has the Nokia 5230 handset that I've used every once in a while as well as made calls to it. We live in Calgary, the deep south east of city (auburn bay). The call signal is great, however if we go to the basement we'd be lucky to have one bar. Data speed is decent roughly the same as the other carriers maybe slower in some instances. The places that I did notice funky connections is the sw as well as some places in downtown like the mall downtown in the bay. The reliability is better then what some people make it out to be, at least in Calgary. I don't know about other cities
