Hey everyone,
I just noticed that the HTC Incredible S has shown up on the Canadian version of HTCSense.com. Hopefully this means that Bell/Virgin are planning a launch soon!

Engadget put up a pretty positive review (http://www.engadget.com/2011/03/21/htc-incredible-s-review/) too!

Hopefully this (http://mobilesyrup.com/2011/03/11/bell-to-release-the-htc-incredible-s-on-april-4th-for-499-99/) is right, I'm serious considering this phone

Agreed. This, the Desire S, and the Pre3 are the only phones I'm interested in right now.

Do you think you and your wife could split the cost of one for my birthday too?

I'd give you money if you could convince my wife that Blackberry's aren't superior devices

Convince a BlackBerry user that there are much better devices on the market? I'd probably have a better shot at winning the lottery.
Let us know what you think of the Incredible S when you've got it. I'm very tempted by the Pre3 right now but the Incredible S is also quite compelling.

So it's out, and down to $0 on a 3 year sentence (http://www.bell.ca/shopping/en_CA_AB.HTC-Incredible-S/72020.details;GEMSESSIONID=wb0cNZgLmJQs1lD3db37Z8h 8qJjCB2swDvv5Zhbs9ms8zlJkdph5!-927585458), any thoughts if the off contract price will ever come down?
EDIT: Well how about that it's back to $99 on a 3 year sentence (http://www.bell.ca/shopping/en_CA_AB.HTC-Incredible-S/72020.details;GEMSESSIONID=wb0cNZgLmJQs1lD3db37Z8h 8qJjCB2swDvv5Zhbs9ms8zlJkdph5!-927585458)

Doubt it'll come down below $500. The Vibrant and Desire Z are still on for $500 so it'll be a very long time before the Incredible S gets any cheaper.

I picked up the phone on launch day and now have it unlocked to work on Fido. I've had the Samsung Nexus S, HTC Desire HD, Motorola Atrix and HTC Desire over the last couple of months so I have a few devices I can use for comparison. :D
Of all the phones I've owned, the Motorola Atrix has had the best hardware. Unfortunately, it's been let down by poor software (Motoblur) and capped upload speeds. The HTC Desire HD is a great phone, but I found it too big to use with one hand. The original HTC Desire was also a great phone for customization (lots of ROMs available), but it had a truly awful battery life.
With the HTC Incredible S, you get a phone that doesn't lead in all departments but gives you a satisfying user experience overall. If you are a fan of HTC Sense (as I am), this is the phone for you. It's size is perfect (not too big), battery life is pretty good (I get between 1.5 - 2 days between charges) and overall fit and finish of the phone is good. Overall, this is a phone that will get you going without any major fuss.
If you want a stock Android phone (or hate Sense) or if you are looking to install custom ROMs (or even root), this is not the phone for you. You may be better off with the Nexus S or Desire HD (stay away from the Atrix in all cases)!
Hope that helps...

Thanks for the info. Now if you could please tell us how to grab all those phones without breaking the bank, that would be great!

So I picked mine up on Saturday, have been enjoying it so far, it absolutely flies
Couple issues
1. my Bell car charger that I bought 1.5 years ago with my Pre doesn't work with the INCS any ideas why?
2. I can't get my Hotmail account to work on the Exchange sync, it won't delete emails (I delete them on the phone and the phone just syncs them back on) I've looked all over I an can't figure this one out so I just have it on POP for now

I got this phone on tuesday, thru Virgin Mobile. And here's what I think so far....
I had to get it exchanged the next day because it was being pretty slugish and I realized that the phone had been used before...
Now with the brand new handset they gave me, I still feel like the phone is slow at times and has weird glitches. I really love the hardware aspect of the phone, but it feels like the OS wasn't optimized for this phone or something.
The onscreen keyboard would simply stop working and I had to restart the phone. The guy at virgin told me to deactivate the vibration feedback. Which fixed the problem, but I feel like I shouldn't have to deactivate a feature that I like in order to get my phone to work properly. I'm having issues with the messaging app also. When I'm in a texting convo, if I press the back button to go back to the texting app that shows all the threads, instead of taking me there it just goes to a white screen and eventually takes me back to the convo I was in in the first place. As if it doesn't know where to go when I press back.
I'm not exactly sure what to do right now, as the first phone I had gotten was also glitching like this one. I don't feel like getting it exchanged for a second time and risk dealing with the same issues...
I'm thinking about a white iPhone 4, but I'm not a big Apple fan.
I'm bummed because I really like my Incredible S but the glitches are really bothering me! =/
What should I do? Is there another phone I should be considering? I have another week or so to decide if I want to cancel with Virgin and find something else.

So I went on down to Best Buy today to buy one of these and they couldn't give me one without signing up on a contract. I'm less than one year into my current Bell plan and quite satisfied with it. I figure I'll try later this week at the Source but has anyone else had any trouble buying one outright?
Go to a Bell Corporate Store, that's were I got mine outright

Have you tried a factory reset (How To (http://www.htc.com/sea/faqs.aspx?p_id=389&cat=90&id=163278))?

Not yet, but I called Virgin earlier and the guy had me take my sim card out and wait 30 seconds. I haven't used it enough in the last few hours to notice if anything is better, except that since I did that whole pulling the sim card out thing, my HTC Sense weather widget isn't displaying the weather information anymore..sigh...
If it keeps acting up, I will try a factory reset.
Thanks
