Having in mind the insane rates in Canada, I don't think that anyone can actually have a favourite at this point. The question is rather, who will sc*ew us less once we've signed. Don't you think? :P We need a mobile revolution, lol!

I am liking Koodo more and more these days. Wish they had better phones though

I'm with Koodo. Really it's a phone my wife and I share since neither of us really need a phone all the time. I choose them because they didn't make me sign a contract. I know the tab is their equivalent but it means I don't pay to cancel a contract but just what I owe on the phone. I agree the phones need a boost but I'm happy with the KRZR. Service has been good, never really any problems. My only complaint really is the phones and I think they should introduce some smartphones like Fido and Solo have done.

I didn't make it up, check the link, or just ask anyone who travels outside Canada/North America. There was also a really good debate on some of the radio stations (around iPhone's launch date), not sure if I can find it anywhere though. The main idea was that places which Canadians would call Third World countries do get better mobile services at way better prices. That's a fact, and I can agree 100% because I've experienced it myself ;)

I have been a Business customer of Bell Mobility for several years and have never experienced problems/issues of any kind. In fact, they have always been courteous and helpful. :)

I am with rogers but i feel telus has better customer service and deals overall. Rogers loves to mess with people, they love having their hands in their customers pockets. Hopefully the new entrants will make a difference. data is my main concern.

thats true, we cant get everything i guess, hopefully its decent though. Well if they do give us some nice data rates than they better realize to drop some nice device so we can put the good rates to good use.

I'm with Virgin (no contract), but I'll wait until Globalive goes... well... live before I make a decision. I might go with them when they come to Edmonton, but if they force rates of the big 3 down, I'll be happy with that.

i am currently with rogers, but recently i have been liking the way bell has been upgrading. Well with numerous devices coming, 3g network on the way, rollover minutes. My opinion it seems they really are trying to give the customers the best service. Seems that rogers hasn't, well not to my knownledge.

Haven't been with Rogers too long but got a killer plan and am very happy with them. I was with FIDO who I just loved till they switched to a "budget" carrier and lowered their standards.

Telus after 7 years of crap service NEVER AGAIN even if they join the GSM ranks. I have to agree though that their CS was exceptional.

I like the convenience of the SIM cards in Rogers' phones.
However, I will switch to the company that first offers the BB Storm3.

My first cell phone (carried in a box) came compliments of 'Cantel' (now Rogers) Shortly afterward the company I worked for went out to tender for Cell services contract, And my next phone (that clipped on my belt and hung down to my knees) came from 'BC Cellular' (now Telus)

Since those times I have always had a phone from one or other of these providers. When I was working 'Rogers' usually had low bid and they won the contract. Sadly, their customer service was consistently inferior to that of Telus. Since retiring I always use Telus (though I am thinking of making a move to Koodo) I will never ever use Rogers again after being ripped off (over the years) just too many times.

I've had Bell, Telus, Rogers and MTS. I like the Sim cards for Rogers but the coverage here is crap at best. MTS sucks!! Bell and Telus were decent no real horror stories. Unfortunately I can only get MTS or Rogers at the moment so I'm with Rogers. A new network is coming so the network should be improving......

Until you have to negotiate with Telus Loyalty or whatever their retention department is called. They laughed and told my gf to port out to Rogers when she asked for 6pm early evenings in exchange for resigned for 3 years and upgrading to a smartphone.

It's kind of like voting, except with your money.

You want to vote for the Libertarian, but you know they are never going to get elected, so you vote for the lesser of the evils.

Imo, the lesser of the evils is currently Rogers, until they prove me wrong.

So far my least hated carrier is Telus. I have had Bell and Rogers in the past. I will never go back to Rogers, from the day I signed my contract they never made good on the promotion that was offered, that was back in the rebate promo days. Next up is Bell, although the service is better than Rogers in my area and the price is lower, customer service was horrible, in one single tech call I would be passed around at least 3 times. I have had a couple bumps in the road with Telus but nothing that could be solved without threats of leaving or excessive yelling etc. 90% of the time I find Telus reps actually listen. First time I ever called Telus was to ask why I just paid more for a phone from Telus than buying it at Walmart or Future Shop (It was only $30 difference), the rep placed me on hold and came back to tell me he was sending me a bluetooth headset, car charger and leather case plus he was taking 50% off my bill for the next 3 months. I never demanded anything, I only asked why I paid more at Telus, and here is the kicker for me, the rep kept his word, I got the items in the mail and my bill reflected the 50% off. Just recently I opted to pay the early upgrade fee. Since then I have had nothing but network problems, the phone is horrible. I had to take my complaint to the better business bureau for this one. I got a call from a rep in the Office of the President, she removed the early upgrade fee, and is allowing me to wait until there is a phone I like (I am waiting for more info on the Galaxy Nexus) to switch out my phone, oh and get this my phone will be free. So aside from having to take the complaint to the B.B.B things have been really good at Telus, my bill is always accurate, customer service is polite when I call even if they can't help or are unable to help. I will be staying with Telus for next 3 years (because of contract) but I will probably be signing another contract after that. If had to give grades based on my experiences I would give Rogers a D, Bell a B and Telus an A.

Due to a reasonably priced retention plan, and the fact that I've been with Rogers for the past 11 years, I'd have to say my least "feel ripped off" carrier is Rogers. Now I just have to get my hands on a new android phone....G-Nex.

TELUS all the way!

The 2 main ones in my town are TELUS and Rogers. Rogers has been known to rip off their customers all the time so I decided to go with TELUS.

When there was a slight defect on my BlackBerry Bold 9900, I called TELUS up and told them what was wrong. They then go to send me a Brand New BlackBerry Bold 9900 without making me send back the old one! Great Customer service.

Hey all,

My friends have superphones from both Bell and Telus, I am still with my XPERIA X10 and SGS CAPTIVATE and when ever we go in a basement, they either have no service or 1 bar while my phones has full bars, ( I don't know why but my Xperia X10 has signal even underground while my SGS has no service what so ever ).

So I like Rogers for their coverage, and I know some people won't agree with me but their customer service has never let me down yet.

I have a Videotron 4G tablet and, even though their network is only in Quebec, I like their speed, 3.8MBPS+/Per second.

I like Telus... and it isn't without cringing that I say that... there just isn't a provider I actually like...

Telus is who I'm with as of now, but the amount of times they screw up on the back end is just atrocious. No matter how much dilligence you have, it seems like you just might as well not have it... because they're going to screw up anyways. . . .

The plus side to this, however, is that when they make a mistake, they fix it... as long as you have the fortitude to actually push the issue.

I hope they win the 700MHz auction as well, because that will help my signal out HUMONGOUSLY when I'm at home etc.

The scary thing, to me, about Telus though, is that they "technically" used to be a Crown Corporation out in the west. At least, they acquired a Crown Corporation, which established their dominance in the west as a provider.

They're also the highest trading stock out of all N. American providers.

They're also the highest trading stock out of all N. American providers.

Bell Mobility's market cap is almost double what Telus is... Rogers is about 2b higher... Its not all about the stock price... Example:

Bell Mobility (NYSE:BCE) - $40.08 per share * 778.0 million shares = $31.18 billion market cap

Rogers (TSE:RCI.A) - $39.03 per share * 526.38 million shares = $20.54 billion market cap

Telus (TSE:T) - $57.05 per share * 324.5 million shares = $18.51 billion market cap

I won't even get started on the American companies, because as an example, verizon is trading at 39.01 with a market cap 50% larger than Rogers, Bell, and Telus COMBINED.

In other words, of the big three in Canada, Telus is the LEAST valueable, with the highest stock price. Just in case you were planning on making investments, I would highly recommend doing your research first ;). Not worth losing money because you don't understand the full scope of the compan(y/ies) you are investing in.

my cell history is Rogers ,bell, Rogers, virgin, Rogers, koodo.

With my first cell phone in 1997 with rogers, I brought it into there store for repair and never saw it again. They keep charging me serviceand never gave me back my phone. I had to get my credit card to reverse there payments.

Bell was not to bad.

Second time with Rogers, they put me on contract when I brought over my own phone. That pissed me of so I cancelled the service on the first bill.

Virgin was good and I left for a TOR on a great Rogers plan and 50$ iPhone 4

Rogerss the third time was pissing me off so I broke my contract for $50 once I moved to Quebec.

Now have a iphone 4s unlocked and I'm with koodo no contract and I'm pretty happy. I know my bill will never be over $75 a month and I'm a heavy user. I'm sure I could save a few dollars with another carrier but I'd rather not have to restrict my calling habbits. I hate having to wait till 5 to use my phone.

Of all my experiences I would have to say rogers was the worst. I'm so happy I screwed them out of $500 is terminations fees by moving to Quebec.

Hey, thanks for doing some of my footwork! That's exactly where I was at in my stock knowledge! LOL

I've been looking at the discrepancies between how much the stocks were and how many exist for trading and wondering what the product of the division would be... Market cap apparently! LOL

Every agent is different, you probably could have called back and made a case to another support manager, in which case their reaction would have aided you in your quest with the next agent. Seriously, they have no right to be insulting, or belittling to you, and Telus wants your business, them as an agent being a delinquent is something the company would penalize, if it was held accountable.

That said, you do have to negotiate with Telus often, and they do screw up a lot. I swear it's been a side job for me the whole contract through. I have to call at least once every 2-3 months.

I hate Robbers, I was with them before. Never again! They always seemed to overcharge me, they had terrible customer service and their rates are simply insane. Right now I'm on MTS here in Manitoba, using an unlocked device because their phone selection is utter crap. The best device that they offer right now would either be the iPhone 4S or the Bold 9900. Regarding Android, don't even ask, their best Droid right now is the original Motorola Milestone (yes, the original Droid, they're still carrying it). However, MTS' rates are excellent, and they have decent customer support.

If I had to choose a favorite, it would probably either be Telus or Wind for reasonable rates and good customer service. Come March, I'll be switching my mother to a Lumia 800 on Telus, and get her off her long expired feature phone plan from Robbers.
