your best bet in the long run is to buy the phone on craigslist for slightly more and have the ability to save your phone contract purchase for something worth it(if it ever comes!)

Not a three-year contract, that's for sure.

We only offer two phones on 3-year contracts:
- Apple iPhone
- Blackberry Pearl 8100

50 bucks for the pearl would be worth it, but like someone said get an unlocked device so you can wait for long time for nice devices to hit Fido brand

Does anyone have any predictions on the credibility of these phones coming out. The LG phone looks like the most interesting one

Sony Ericsson T303 coming to Fido soon (early March, now on the SE Canada website)

I can verify that the "Launchs" presentation (LOL) is actually real and has been circulated to stores.

wow - I guess they were in a rush to inform staff about the upcoming phones... the person who created the doc probably got distracted by the beauty of the Pearl 8100 :)

Most of the phones are NOW 2years, so they up the price by a little tiny bit.

$50 with any normal 2-year contract, if the 'Launchs' list is right ;)
Any thoughts for this phone by the Rogers' customers who already have it?
Are the buttons on the front easy to press, they seem kind of too low on the phone.

No, it's today. When I went to check earlier today, the guy at Fido said they just got them, even though they don't have the dummy units yet, so if you want one you'll have to ask for it. He said they only have the black/dark gray one, and he didn't know if there'll be any other colours coming.

This is true. Stores are fully stocked as today is the official launch date for the LG Neon. I was playing around with the demo yesterday. Not a bad phone.
Keyboard was tricky at first, keys don't seem high enough for my liking.

I played with a Rogers one the other day, found the keyboard really small.

So is the Neon worth it? At least compared to all the rest at Fido. It's the newest model, and I'm seriously considering it as my next phone (mainly because of the qwerty), and because everything else was build before 2008, which I bet, would be a shame pretty much anywhere else in the world but not here of course. Plus, I've never had an LG before, so I'm not familiar with the amount of quality they put into their work, will anyone shed some light here please?

I'm about to get this phone, but is LG's phone software good? I love sony erricsons phone software, but hated moterollas. So can anyone tell me if LG's phone software is good, I like a good phone with a good phone software.

I got mine yesterday, and it does look like a decent phone. Of course, Fido have given their share to the software - ripping out some of the things you can normally see in KS360 videos on the internet, but that's not something we wouldn't expect, right? They had a demo at the store where I got it, so you can go and have a peek. The pack is pretty basic - the handset and a home charger, with a rather short user manual, though no one would probably need a longer one. I'm really looking forward a next generation of this phone, the Android one or just an improved version of the software to deal with the awkwardness of some of the functions.
Also a question. Are the txt messages really free with the $25+ plans? I always feel strange about something labeled as free/unlimited these days. Just making sure, I won't end up with some ugly bill :)
