Thinking about purchasing an Android device from Motorola (Atrix!), but I'm told they have been notoriously slow at getting out updates for their devices. Can you guys confirm? What's it like?

This is complete speculation on my part, but I suspect that with the additional software (webtop, etc.) on the Atrix, your going to see a fairly long delay between updates. Just my 2cents

I don't agree.
Motorola is leading a new trend with this dual core and the dock accessories, and this is now thier flagship device.
I don't think they would delay updates, though what you say regarding the additional development cycles due to the added OS embedded, possibly.
But the talk people have been saying about Motorola not updating, i'd doubt that given the media attention this phone has had.

very true, given the high profile of the device, I would suspect a reasonable update at least to 2.3, past that will depend on it sells. To Moto's benefit is that the webtop will be on all their devices going forward so that should simplify the update process (ie one largely similar update across multiple phones instead of all different ones)

Historically though, have they been slow at rolling out updates compared to other companies?
I won't count Sony, because I don't think they even bothered to update their X10.

The 52 is supposed to have up to date avionics like FLIR, but as there is no production aircraft yet AFAIK, its hard to say. Oh, and the ka 50 does not fire any of the mentioned missiles, because this was deemed to unsafe.
