Dell Streak 7 Tablet retails for $449.99 with an estimated ship date of April 28th

We’re not sure when this popped up on the Dell Canada site but the Dell Streak 7 tablet is almost here. This Android 2.2 tablet comes in with the price tag of $449.99 and has a 7-inch display that’s made of Gorilla Glass (resolution of 800×480). Other notable specs are that it has a dual-core NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor, 5 megapixel camera with auto-focus, flash and a 1.3 MP front-facing camera, full HTML browser, WiFi, 16GB of internal storage and can hold up to 32GB. When I attempted to check out and purchase this it gave me an “Estimated Ship Date of 28/04/2011″.

So it’s not running Android 3.0 but it’s yet another tablet to consider.

Rogers officially releases Dell Streak for $149.99 on 3-year

Even though Dell went live yesterday and launched the Dell Streak… Rogers has announced in a press release that the Streak can now be purchased. Price plans are the same from the leaked internal doc at $149.99 on a 3-year voice and data plan.

If you’re planning on getting this tablet/smartphone Rogers states that this product is “Designed with the future in mind, the Dell Streak will support over-the-air updates including Android platform upgrades, Adobe Flash 10.1, video chat applications enhancements and other software innovations.” The Streak comes with Android OS 1.6 but will be upgraded to 2.1 (no talks of upgrades past this yet). In addition, the Streak has a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 8250 processor, 5-inch touchscreen WVGA display (800×480 resolution), 5 megapixel camera with auto-focus/dual LED flash (and a a front-facing VGA camera), GPS, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and holds up to 32 GB with microSD card.

Dell Streak now available at Dell for $549.99

Just like that – the Dell Streak is now available. This can be purchased outright through Dell for $549.99 and they state on the site that it’s “For use on Rogers network only”. This should be also available at Rogers in the coming days (if not today) as we revealed several price plans last week.

We’ve mentioned the specs a number of times of this tablet/smartphone: comes with a 5-inch touchscreen WVGA display (800×480 resolution), 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 8250 processor, holds up to 32 GB with microSD card, has GPS, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, 5 megapixel camera with auto-focus, dual LED flash and a front-facing VGA camera. The Streak ships with Android OS 1.6 (very outdated) but it will be upgraded later this year to OS 2.1.

Rogers Dell Streak training guide surfaces

Now that it’s known that Rogers will be releasing the Dell Streak in November – when it officially becomes available this tablet/smartphone is something you might want to get your hands on. We don’t have a specific release date or pricing yet but do have some solid reading for you. What we’ve got here are the training slides that Rogers employees are perusing through… and there’s some good info/specs to get familiar with.

Rogers states that the Streak “was developed with the following customer segments in mind: Families, Students and Gen Y (young adults), and Affluent Professionals”. In addition, as this comes with Android OS 1.6 they do confirm that “an over-the-air upgrade to Android 2.2 is expected later this year”… hopefully that means sometime by the end of 2010. In the slides Rogers takes some time to compare the Android OS to iOS, BlackBerry 6 and BlackBerry 5.

As for Specs: 5-inch WVGA (800 x 480) LCD supporting capacitive multi-touch with Corning Gorilla Glass, 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 8250 processor, 512 MB ROM + 512MB SDRAM, holds up to 32GB with a microSD card, 5 megapixel, auto-focus with dual LED flash; plus front-facing VGA camera, 3.5 mm headphone jack, GPS, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, 1530 mAh battery, weighs 220 grams.

Rogers seems to be loading up on the tablet devices as they will also be releasing the Samsung Tab soon, plus offer plans for the iPad. Check out all the slides and info after the break
