Update: WIND unveils its $39/month ‘Ultimate Unlimited Plan’

WIND Mobile has come to the table with their big discounted monthly plan for the holidays. Similar to previous years, WIND has included all the fixings for $39/month and is a dollar cheaper than their current $40/month plan, plus includes Voicemail+, which is usually $8/month. LG Canada says Android 4.4 update for G2 coming ‘late Q1, 2014′

We’ve just received word that LG is promising an update to Android 4.4 for its flagship G2 smartphone in late Q1, 2014, or near the end of March. WIND launches the HTC Desire

The HTC Desire has made the trek across most Canadian carriers and the latest to add the entry-level Android is WIND Mobile. The prices fall inline with their competitors at $0 on the WindTab, then slowly rise upward to $349 outright. This might be a good device to couple with their upcoming holiday plan. As



WIND’s ‘Black Friday’ sale drops prices of select smartphones

WIND Mobile has discounted several smarpthones for their upcoming “Black Friday” sale. Most are older devices, but a complete list of the outright costs are below (discounted Tab pricing is also available). Nexus 5 now available at WIND Mobile

WIND Mobile customers who’ve been itching to grab hold of the LG Nexus 5 will want to mark tomorrow off on their calendar. We’ve been informed that the purest of all Android devices is officially launching tomorrow (November 14th). This is the 16GB version and black will be the only colour option. Here’s the pricing



WIND Mobile launches the Huawei Ascend P6 for $399 outright

WIND Mobile has been going through a bit of a resurgence in the Canadian market of late. Not only is the company’s subscriber base up to 637,000, but ARPU is on the rise, up 10% over the same period last year. It may not have an LTE network with which to compete head-to-head against the incumbents,



WIND Mobile has 636,827 active wireless subscribers

Back in August, Orascom Telecom reported their Q2 results and declared the WIND Mobile subscriber base rose to 620,451. Now, three months later, in their Q3 reporting, WIND has again increased their numbers to 636,827 active subscribers, an increase of 16,376 subs. This number is also an increase of 24.7% over the period past year

Though we’re still getting over the excitement of the announcement — go buy one and return here, quickly! — but the Nexus 5 is here and we’ve had a brief chance to play with it. The TL;DR version is that this is a very nice phone, and is a bargain at $399 CDN for the 32GB LTE version.
