Galaxy Nexus now available at Videotron

Look at all those happy Android robots above! Quebec-based Videotron has added the Galaxy Nexus to their lineup, it’s their first Android OS 4.0 powered device. Videotron releasing the Galaxy Nexus February 8th

Android OS 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and the Samsung Galaxy Nexus is almost available on every Canadian carrier. There are a few exceptions, such as MTS and Koodo Mobile, but the latest to announce its availability is Quebec-based Videotron. They’ve updated their site and declared the official launch date to be February 8th. No details yet on the pricing.

Update: Videotron sent us a note that “The price will be announced on launch day! We will be competitive.”

HTC Radar reportedly coming to Videotron this Spring

The rebirth of Windows Phone devices in Canada is upon us. Finally after a 14 month hiatus we’ll soon be seeing a few Nokia handsets (Lumia 710 and 800), plus if the latest report is correct, the HTC Radar will be coming to Videotron. According to La Presse the Quebec-based carrier will start selling the Windows Phone Mango device sometime in “early spring”. No firm details on pricing, but it might come in around the $100 contract price point. In addition, since this is an AWS device, it’s also very likely that WIND Mobile and Mobilicity will end up launching this device too.

Specs of the Radar have it coming with a 3.8-inch display (480 x 800), 1GHz processor, 5MP camera that shoots 720p HD videos, VGA front-facing camera, 8GB of storage and 512MB of RAM, 11mm thin with a weight of 137 grams.

Videotron BlackBerry Bold 9900 upgrade to OS 7.0.0.585 now available

Just like Bell, Virgin Mobile, WIND Mobile, Rogers, SaskTel, TELUS and MTS, Quebec-based Vidéotron has pushed through an upgrade to the BlackBerry Bold 9900. OS version 7.0.0.585 is now available to download. You can visit the Videotron site here as they do a good job with step-by-step instructions, just make sure you back up first.

Videotron confirms the Galaxy Nexus is “coming soon”

It must be Galaxy Nexus come out day today. Even though we let you know a few weeks ago that Quebec-based Videotron would release the Galaxy Nexus “in the new year”, today the regional carrier has officially stated it’s “coming soon”. No other information about timing or prices, but they are quick to highlight that users will “Experience high definition like never before!”.

BlackBerry Torch 9810 released by Videotron

We’ve known for a few weeks that Videotron will be releasing the BlackBerry Bold 9810, a follow-up device to the 9800. Today the Quebec-based carrier has launched this smartphone and stated that “The all-new BlackBerry Torch will blow you away!”… might be a bit of an exaggeration, but if you’re into QWERTY slider touchscreen devices this might be something to consider. This BlackBerry 7 smartphone is priced at $149.95 on the “reduced plan”, or $599.99 outright.

Videotron launching the HTC Amaze December 7th

The HTC Amaze is now available at TELUS, WIND and Mobilicity – all at various price points. Starting December 7th Quebec-based Videotron will be joining the gang and releasing the Android 2.3 powered device on December 7th. You can check out our full video review here, but if you’re thinking about grabbing this from Videotron you’ll have to give $129.99 on their reduced plan, or $599.95 outright.

Nokia 500 released by Videotron

Can’t blame Videotron for highlighting the Nokia 500, their latest device release, is a “Excellent value for money!”. This does have some decent specs: runs Symbian Anna OS, 3.2-inch touchscreen display, 1Ghz processor, 5MP camera and Wi-Fi. About that excellent value for the money, it costs $49.95 on a reduced rate, or outright for $209.95. Comparing it to other carriers who have the 500, WIND is offering this for $179 or $29 on WINDtab, meanwhile Mobilicity lists it for $169.99 no-term.

Videotron to release the BlackBerry Torch 9810

Videotron is getting ready to unload another BlackBerry device – they just launched the Bold 9900 and will be putting the all-touch Curve 9380 on the shelf too. The latest BlackBerry 7 OS device that Quebec-based Videotron will offer their customers is the Torch 9810. This is QWERTY touchscreen slider recently popped up on the BlackBerry Software update section. No word on the official release date or pricing, but you can expect it to come in the same price points as every other Canadian carrier, around the $600 no-term mark.

Galaxy Nexus heading to Videotron “in the New Year”

Solid news for Videotron customers today! According to this internal document the upcoming Android OS 4.0 Galaxy Nexus is heading to Videotron, “specific plans concerning this device will be announced in the New Year”. So if Videotron is “currently in discussions with Samsung”, then you can bet WIND and Mobilicity are too. C’est Magnifique!
