SpeakOut Wireless scrapping $10 Unlimited Browsing Add-On, opting for “SpeakOut Data”

MVNO (Mobile Virtual Network Operator) 7-Eleven SpeakOut Wireless hooks onto Rogers GSM network. They offer low cost prepaid devices and plans. It’s unclear how many people have a device with them, but effective June 30th they’ll be shedding their popular $10 Unlimited Browsing Add-On and putting into place “SpeakOut Data.” No further details are listed as to when this will be implemented, probably on July 1st, nor at what cost. SpeakOut did take to Facebook and say that “Data will do everything the current Browsing feature can do, and more (and quicker!).” So perhaps they’ll get some entry-level 4G HSPA+ devices, or maybe go blazing fast with LTE-enabled.

SpeakOut offers up free Nokia 1661 with $100 of Airtime

Title kinda says it all… 7Eleven SpeakOut Wireless is giving you a free Nokia 1661 when you buy $100 of airtime. If that device is not your fancy then they’ll opt to give you $59 off the purchase of another phone. Good deal if you’re thinking Prepaid.

SpeakOut Wireless launches the Nokia 2220 “SlingShot”

The Nokia 2220 slider has made its way around to most of the carriers now but none of them has a more wicked sounding name for it than 7Eleven SpeakOut Wireless. The “Slingshot” has the same basic specs such as a 1.8-inch display, slider, VGA camera with video and FM radio… with a price tag of $89 no-contract. The good news is that this comes with 20 minutes of talk time, the bad news is that additional minutes cost $0.25 per minute. (Free incoming texts and sending a text is $0.10)

Free Slurpee: Are you rushing to get on this deal from SpeakOut Wireless?

There’s been some amazing promotions in the past by carriers to get customers to sign up. Like offering phones at $0.00 or giving 50% off rate plans. However, this latest one by SpeakOut Wireless takes the cake for the oddest promo we’ve ever seen. They have a deal going on until August 15th that when you purchase any level of airtime you could also walk out the door with a free 28oz. Slurpee. Yup, a mongo sugary water concoction. I see the connection of 7-Eleven, Slurpee, Summertime… but wouldn’t you want more airtime rather than a $0.25 Slurpee? The kicker is in the fine print that states this “is subject to product availability”. I’ve never known the Slurpee to be sold out.

Not the greatest news but it’s always good to continue to save money. If you are looking for a Prepaid device you might want to head on over to your local 7Eleven. Speak Out Wireless is having a promo now that will save you $20 on all their devices. The only condition is that you have to buy $50 worth of airtime to get the discount.

7-Eleven SpeakOut Wireless has a new promo going on that could see a free Nokia 1661 in your pocket… or $59 off a current device… all you have to do is buy a $100 in airtime. Pretty simple deal and no matter what you go for they will throw in another $25 worth of airtime.

SpeakOut Wireless to release Nokia 2720 in December

SpeakOut Wireless will be releasing the Nokia 2720 in December. Fido will be launching this soon as the “Fold” but they are calling this on the “Eclipse” and it’ll be available at the ripe prepaid price of $99.00. Included in this deal is Voicemail, Caller ID, Incoming text messages no Activation Fee or System Access Fee.

According to the SpeakOut site the Nokia 2720 has a 3.0 megapixel camera (we thought a 1.3 megapixel was only in this but time will tell), MP3 player and FM radio, Bluetooth compatible, GPRS browser and all the standard features such your contacts, calendar, alarm clock, stop watch and timer.

Speak Out offers up 50% off devices

Speak Out Wireless is offering up 50% off their devices. The deal sounds good if you’re into prepaid and like paying as much as $0.20 per minute. There is a catch though – you’ll have to buy $100 worth of minutes to get the offer.

The devices they currently offer, without the 50% off promo are: Nokia 1661 for $59.00; Nokia 1208 for $59.00; Nokia 2760 for $90.00; Nokia 1680 for $89.00 and the Nokia 5130 XpressMusic for $139.99 (comes with a 1GB microSD card).

Speak Out Wireless now offers Fido Moto Renew W233

Speak Out adds Nokia 5130 “Jamma” to lineup

Speak Out 7Eleven has added another device to their lineup, this time it’s a worthwhile one to consider.

According to their July Handset Guide the “Jamma” Nokia 5130 is available for a whopping $139.99. You’ll get 20 minutes of start-up time and this is only 88 grams, comes with a 2 inch display with a resolution of 240 x 320 pixels, has dedicated music keys and can hold up to 16 GB of expandable memory (microSD). This also comes with an FM radio, 3.5 mm headphone jack, MP3 player, Bluetooth compatible and a 2 megapixel camera with video capabilities.

FYI: Rogers has this available also on their “Pay As You Go” for $99.99
