Koodo Mobile will have the HTC One V available on June 1st

We’ve known that Koodo Mobile was going to release the entry-level HTC One V for a few weeks now. Today the “decidedly different” wireless carrier announced on Facebook that it’ll be available on June 1st. They didn’t give an indication of price, but we have an internal screenshot that shows this OS 4.0 ICS device might come in at a respectable $225.

“Facebook Exclusive: We’re excited to announce a new phone available on June 1, 2012! Everyone, meet HTC One V. If you’re an Android geek, you’re going to love the smooth browsing and fast social networking on the Android™ 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). Details about the HTC One V will be out on June 1st – stay tuned!”

A rundown of specs on the One V have it coming with a 3.7-inch display (480 x 800), 1Ghz Snapdragon single-core processor, 5MP camera that shoots 720p HD videos, WiFi, 9.2 mm thin and weighs in at 115 grams. Our full review of this Android is here.

Koodo to release the entry level LG A341

Well this could be a throwback to previous years but it seems that a flip phone will soon be released in Canada. This LG A341 was previously launched by TELUS and if this screenshot is correct then it’s headingto Koodo Mobile for $100. Most Canadians are transitioning from a talk/text phone to a smartphone, but the A341 is as basic as you can get these days with its “dedicated quick access function buttons.” Seems like an odd move but guess there’s a device out there for everyone.

Koodo HTC One V pops up in their inventory system, one step closer to launch

There’s been no confirmation from either HTC or Koodo Mobile that the One V will be added to their lineup… we’ve leaked internal docs a couple times that shows proof. This time around we’re hearing that Koodo will join others in launching this Android 4.0 powered device within the next few days, plus the could possibly come in at the lowest price. It’s not confirmed as this screenshot might be a placeholder, but it could see a crazy low $225 retail price. Hopefully that’s true as is it would make this one of the most desirable entry-level Android devices in Canada.

HTC One S also coming to Koodo Mobile?

This is solid news for those who are with, or wanting to be with, Koodo Mobile. We’ve known their plans for releasing the HTC One V shortly – an Android 4.0 powered device with Beats Audio – and it looks like they’ll kick it up a notch by launching the One S. The above screenshot is from Koodo Mobile and this is the more powerful HTC device as it has a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED display (resolution of 960×540), 1.5 GHz dual-core processor, 1GB RAM, 8MP that captures 1080p HD videos with a 1.3MP front-facing camera. No word on timing or prices, but other Canadian carriers have this scheduled to arrive on May 17th for about $600 outright.

Also, the above note says there’s something called a LG F4. I have no clue what this is. I know that LG recently announced the L3, L5 and L7 (heading to Rogers and Fido), but the F4?… Searching the world wide web comes up with an outdated flip phone called the LG A340 F4. So, who knows what that one is.

In regards to the upcoming HTC One V and One S launch, we’ll update you once we hear more.

HTC One V heading towards Koodo Mobile

You think Koodo Mobile would be left out of the HTC One Series devices? All the other carriers decided to launch at least one of the new OS 4.0 Android devices and Koodo was MIA from the HTC site. Parent-company TELUS is launching the One S and One V, Fido is launching the One S, Rogers has the One X, Bell decided to release the One S and One V, and finally Virgin and SaskTel will have the One S available to their customers.

Good news is on the horizon for those interested Koodo Mobile. It seems that employees have started training on the HTC One V – this is the entry level device that Bell will be launching on May 3rd. It should come in under $300 and if this screenshot is correct it’s also heading to Koodo. No word on an official Koodo release date or pricing, but we’ll update you once we get more info.

LG Optimus Black released by Koodo

The good news about this newest Android to hit Koodo Mobile is that it’ll be upgraded to OS 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich soon – the LG Optimus Black, which is available in White and Black, runs OS 2.3 Gingerbread, has a 4-inch NOVA display with a resolution of 480 x 800, 1Ghz processor, 5MP camera that captures 720p HD videos, 2MP front-facing camera, LED flash and Wi-Fi. As expected, the device went right on sale for $250.

Koodo Mobile releasing the LG Optimus Black on April 20th

It’s been just over 7 weeks since we posted news that Koodo Mobile would release the LG Optimus Black. Finally, the date is almost upon us. We’ve been informed that the Optimus Black will launch on Friday, April 20th in both colours, white and black. The regular price is set at $300, but will be launching with a sale price of $250.

The Optimus Black runs OS 2.2, but no worries, LG has announced that it’ll be upgraded to OS 4.0 sometime in Q3. Our hands-on is here, but as a reminder the Optimus Black comes with a 4-inch display (resolution of 480 x 800), 1Ghz processor, 5MP camera that records 720p videos and a 2MP front-facing camera.

Koodo comes out with a $50/month Canada-Wide Data Plan

Not really sure when this happened, but it seems that Koodo has come out with a new plan. For $50/month you can sign yourself up for the Canada-Wide Data Plan. This gives you 1GB of data, 150 minutes, Caller ID, Voicemail and Unlimited Text & Picture messaging. This plan is good for any BlackBerry or other phones, like the LG Optimus Black that will be released soon.

Koodo Mobile to release the LG Optimus Black

Let’s dial it down a bit from all the Mobile World Congress news and future devices. Koodo Mobile will be releasing the LG Optimus Black. This first hit TELUS back in July of last year and runs Android OS 2.3, but is on a path to be upgraded sometime in Q3 to OS 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. The highlighted spec of the Optimus Black are that it has a 4-inch NOVA touchscreen display (made of Gorilla Glass and has a resolution of 480 x 800), 1Ghz processor, 512MB RAM, 5MP camera (records 720p videos) and a 2MP front-facing camera. No word yet on the official release date, but it’ll be available soon.

Koodo Mobile to increase rate plans by $5/month, will now include Call Display and Voicemail

Koodo Mobile has decided to increase their rate plans by $5/month. The change will go live tomorrow, February 3rd, and the major difference I can see is that all plans will now include Call Display and Voicemail – this usually this would run you $7/month each (or you could get the Call Display, Voicemail and Unlimited Messaging add-on for only $10/month). In addition, all plans still include Canada-wide calling, but have shifted towards per-minute billing, not per-second, and overage increases by 5 cents to 45 cents/minute.
