Vlingo now free in the BlackBerry App World

RIM has made Vlingo free on your BlackBerry smartphone. This app usually costs $19.99 but it’s free for a “limited time” – compliments of the recent service outage. Vlingo is a Virtual Assistant, it existed before Apple’s Siri, and allows you to speak to Vlingo and text contacts, search for restaurants etc… useful app and you can score it here from the BlackBerry App World.

Rogers BlackBerry Curve 9360 in White expected to launch November 15th

Nokia 500 lands at WIND Mobile for $179

The Nokia 500 and its Symbian Anna OS has landed at WIND Mobile. If you want this it’ll cost $179 outright or $29 on the WindTab. 3.2-inch touchscreen display, 1Ghz processor, 5 megapixel camera and comes loaded with Nokia Maps for the times you get lost and need directions.

Soon after Steve Jobs passed away there were a couple cartoons that showed him meeting Moses, saying he needs to upgrade to a new tablet. That was kinda funny, but the latest is from Matt Bors who took the time to have Steve Jobs reincarnated.

RIM is giving away $100 worth of free apps to their BlackBerry users, this was caused by the recent service out. Yesterday, DriveSafe.ly Pro was made available for download, and today it’s Bubble Bash 2. This is usually costs $4.99 but you can grab it for free, “Compliments of BlackBerry”. More app titles will be coming soon, namely – SIMS 3, Bejeweled, Photo Editor Ultimate and Vlingo Plus.

Bell gives customers “preferred access” to Montréal Canadiens content, Rogers offers subs additional Leafs coverage

Bell and Rogers will be showing some extra love to hockey fans this season, both companies will be streaming live NHL games on all four screens (smartphones, tablets, TVs or computers). Bell stated in a press release that they’ll offer customers “preferred access” to Montréal Canadiens via the HabsTV channel. Rogers, starting on October 17th, will be expanding their “Rogers On Demand Online” by giving subscribers of their Digital VIP TV a total of 41 live streaming games on both Sportsnet and Leafs TV, plus giving other programs such as “Game In Six Minutes” or “Game In One Hour”.

WIND Mobile has yet to add the new touchscreen/QWERTY BlackBerry Bold 9900 to their lineup, it’s still “coming soon”… but the good news is that the official OS has just been released! Those who already have this device and want to keep up with the latest can now download the OS 7.0.0.439 here…

Yellow Pages app for iOS devices updated, brings ability to write reviews

The Yellow Pages app for iOS (iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch) has been updated to version 3.0. You can still search for people and local business phone numbers and addresses, but they’ve made the app a bit more social in a couple areas. First, users can now write reviews about a specific business (plus give it a star rating). In addition to email and text message, Twitter has been added to the ways you can share details.
