Google Canada releases statistics on most popular Star Wars searches

To celebrate ‘Star Wars Day’ on May the fourth, Google has released some interesting statistics on what Canadians have been searching for regarding the popular science fiction series.

Leia Organa was the most trending character overall in most places in Canada. Finn trended the most in Nova Scotia and Saskatchewan, with Chewbacca in Nunavut and Kylo Ren in the Yukon. Perhaps most interesting of all, the maligned Jar Jar Binks was Prince Edward Island’s most trending character.

The most searched Jedi specifically are:

  1. Yoda
  2. Anakin Skywalker
  3. Obi-Wan Kenobi
  4. Mace Windu
  5. Qui-Gon Jinn

The most searched villains, on the other hand are:

  1. Darth Vader
  2. Kylo Ren
  3. Darth Maul
  4. Boba Fett
  5. General Hux

The most searched movies in 2017 in Canada are:

  1. Star Wars: Episode VIII – The Last Jedi
  2. Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope
  3. Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi
  4. Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens
  5. Star Wars: The Clone Wars (animated film)

The Canadian cities searching Star Wars the most in 2017 are:

  1. Thunder Bay, ON
  2. Cambridge, ON
  3. Oshawa, ON
  4. Dartmouth, NS
  5. Nanaimo, BC

The top 5 Star Wars games on the Google Play Store are:

  1. Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes
  2. LEGO Star Wars: TFA
  3. Star Wars: Force Arena,
  4. LEGO Star Wars Yoda II
  5. Star Wars: Commander

Finally, the Google is also taking part in the celebrations with a Star Wars focused sale on the Play Store.

From May 4th to May 11th, various Star Wars movies, games and books are discounted, including: Star Wars: Force ArenaStar Wars Pinball 5 and Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes.
