Following in the footsteps of connected mesh routers like Google WiFi and Eero, Samsung has debuted its own mesh router called Samsung Connect Home.

The small, minimal Wi-Fi routers come in a set and can be placed around the home to maximize Wi-Fi signal. Each puck can cover up to 1,500 square feet. The routers also serve as SmartThing Hubs, which can be used to control smart home objects in your house.

Samsung says it should be compatible with hundreds of third-party smart home devices, such as Philips Hue lightbulbs. It supports Zigbee, Z-Wave and has Bluetooth 4.1.

There is now word on pricing or availability yet, but Samsung has stated that the routers will be sold singly or in packs of three, at least for the standard option, which has a 2×2 MU-MIMO antenna array and processor that caps out at speeds of 866 Mbps in the 5GHz spectrum.

A ‘Pro’ version offers a 4×4 antenna with speeds that cap out at 1.7 Gbps, but doesn’t come in a three pack. MobileSyrup will update this post when more information becomes available.
