What’s their excuse for still using fake zones?

    • specialk2000

Another attempt to rationalize higher prices with Rogers and Fido.

I’m with freedom mobile on their Everywhere55 plan with free Canada and USA roaming. Unlimited data is included with the roaming and I get 1gb at high speed for roaming then I pay $10 extra to get 11gb at high speed for the home network.

Freedom mobile previously known as Wind Mobile has cheaper prices, better signal strength as well as faster 3G speeds, Chart has a maximum of 350 KBps freedom has a maximum of roughly 1.5 MBps. Another upside to freedom compared to chatr is once you go over you full speed data amount chatr only lets you have 15KBps where freedom gives you 30KBps

    • But Freedom mobile won’t work for overseas mobile and iPhone.

    • Alex

i only visited a few select places in asia, but in those cases, getting a local plan beats carrying your current sim card over and using it. $20CAD goes a long way in other places, lol

    • Sorry for make misunderstanding. I really meant Mobile phone from other country than USA.

What do you mean by they won’t work for iPhones?

    • New User

no, only older iPhone’s that support the AWS cellular reception band work on freedom, so you can blame apple for removing that support because it was their choice to support the bigger companies that charge more *cough* rogers and bell *cough* . and why would you want to pay for overseas calling anyways that’s an expensive charge compared to buying a sim card for the place your visiting.

I get up to 15.40mbps download and 4.70mbps upload at any time of the day. Plus I’m on their Everywhere55 plan with free Canada and USA roaming and unlimited data is part of that free roaming.check out the plan for your self. I pay $10 extra to get 11gb at high speed on the home network then I get 1gb at high speed for roaming. Plus freedoms throttling policy is 256kbps down,128kbps up for the first stage then 32kbps down and 16kbos up for the last stage

3G ? How can Rogers be so pathetic?

  • Sk0ly

How pathetic is it that this garbage is supposed to be a deal in this country. Especially when they have access to a Rogers LTE Network but deliberately put people on their 3G network to further inflate the price of the more “premium” brand.

Chatr is a ripoff. I’m with freedom mobile on their Everywhere55 plan and I pay $10 extra to get 11gb of data at high speed on their home network plus unlimited everything else including global texting and USA calling among other things then for roaming off the big3 in Canada or AT&T in the USA I get 1gb of high speed data, unlimited Canada and USA wide texts/MMS and 2400 Canada an USA calling minutes. The data is unlimited but speeds are throttled after I pass both full speed allotments. This is a way better deal than chatrs stupid zone restrictions and they don’t tell u when you leave them.

Let’s just call Chatr what it really is. Rogers Lite.

  • Jonathan Smolkovic

      Bell or rogers?

    • Brandon Arneson

I’m in western Canada so for me it’s Rogers or Telus but if your in eastern Canada you would roam on Rogers or Bell since freedom mobile partners with bell as well as rogers and telus
