Plex’s Cloud media server now available to all Plex Pass subscribers

Plex Cloud

Plex Cloud, a feature which Plex launched in beta a few months ago that allows users to store content in the cloud rather than on a local computer or NAS drive, is now available to all Plex Pass subscribers.

Plex’s new Cloud platform is compatible with Dropbox, Google Drive and OneDrive, though it’s worth noting that if you’re thinking of moving your entire media library to the internet’s pipes, you’ll likely need to pay for additional storage on the cloud storage platform of your choice.

Being able to take all of your media with you anywhere, however, may be worth that additional cost. Plex has offered the ability to stream content from a hard drive or NAS drive for a number of years, though it required the server to always be active and also to have a static IP.

A yearly Plex Pass is priced at $6.49 CAD for the month, $49 for the year and $159 for a lifetime subscription (it’s 20 percent off right now). You can sign up for Plex Pass on Plex’s official website.
