Depending on one’s generosity when it comes to these sort of things, the first image of the next OnePlus smartphone may have leaked today.
On Tuesday morning, preeminent device leaker Evan Blass dropped the following tweet.

The image accompanying Blass’ tweet appears to be a new OnePlus wallpaper the company hasn’t released before. Usually, the company releases a new set of wallpapers whenever it releases a new smartphone.
“You know what this means, don’t you?” Blass asks playfully. Of course, the VentureBeat editor doesn’t say in so many words that the wallpaper comes from the next OnePlus smartphone, but that hasn’t stopped his large Twitter following from speculating as much. Notably, the wallpaper features a different style from the wallpapers Swedish illustrator Hampus Olsson created for the OP3 and OP3T.
It’s also possible OnePlus plans to simply release a set of commemorative wallpapers.
In any case, we’ll likely learn a lot more about the next OnePlus smartphone in the days and weeks to come. Last year, OnePlus released the OnePlus 3 on June 14th. On November 15th, the company replaced the replaced the OP3 with the OnePlus 3T.
