Nintendo says Switch had highest first two-day Americas sales numbers in company history

These guys are likely exaggerating their claims. Without solid numbers to back this up there is little proof and lots of conjecture

    • You are claiming that they are lying? Companies rarely lie about history. Well, big ones anyway. Launches sell out. That’s what happens. They probably sold to the customer nearly all units shipped. Every console is supply constrained at launch and will sell through their initial shipment. The only limit is units shipped. World wide that was about 2 million.

I’m claiming that they exaggerate and lets face it, that’s their job to self-promote. They aren’t likely to come out and say response has been luke-warm, satisfactory or of their expectations.

They are also not likely to come out and artificially inflate their numbers either. You do know that they can’t lie about those things, right? You are purely speculating with no ground to stand on right now.

His MO…. just like how he swore there was no way that TCL was getting Android updates from BlackBerry on the devices they are manufacturing… and then BlackBerry publicly stated the next day how TCL made Berry devices would be getting updates directly from BlackBerry.. apparently he hasn’t learned his lesson

You are the biggest troll on here when it comes to anything Nintendo

      And BlackBerry

Most stores around me had between 13-32 consoles so it’s not hard to sell out

True we’ll have to wait for sales numbers but that’s a terrific start if accurate. I’ve read online that for Europe it’s double what they made with the WiiU which isn’t as impressive as what we’ve got in this article because it also falls short of Ps4 and Xbox One. We must also consider the fact that this is not a traditional holiday launch which is a major factor.

I was told here that the Nintendo Switch will end up being a colossal failure because of no 4k, no Netflix, horrible games, outdated specs, Micro SD card slot, portable gaming is dead, no LTE,

We should just give up on Nintendo and buy ourselves a PS Vita

I’m not defending Nintendo on this one, clearly some units have issues, but EVERY console launches with issues that range from minor annoyance to game-breaking. This is something that is plaguing the whole industry and I find it hypocritical that many people are making it seem like this is exclusive to Nintendo and a sure sign that they are doomed. Clearly those same people have short-term memory and forgot about what Xbox One and PS4 users had to deal with at launch.

All those console manufacturers need to start getting their **** together.

Everything I’ve seen points to a poorly designed console. These aren’t glitches that will be solved with a software patch. They are going to take a bath on all the returns and repairs they have to do.

What you have seen are reports of defective units, something that happens with every launch but is, regardless, inexcusable. My unit, and most of the reports online so far, is problem-free thus the design is not the problem here.

We don’t know how widespread those issues are yet and my guess is that, as always, it’s a small percentage.

The dock scratching the screen is not a defect, it’s a design flaw. Being able to put that controller piece in the wrong way and getting it stuck is a design flaw. Having the charging port on the bottom is a design flaw. And on top of that it seems quite a bit of people have defective units.

    • AMB_07

Concerning the dock scratches I have my doubts about their veracity just by looking at the angles of the scratches; either those people shoved their Switch in it carelessly or their unit is bent somehow. The design itself, again, is not at fault.

The position of the charging port; you got a point there, it should have been at the top or maybe both top and bottom like the Wii U gamepad.

Most reports online are saying their units are fine and again we don’t have numbers and don’t know how widespread they are but if history serves as a lesson: those who have problems make lots of noise to the point where we believe a large portion of the consoles are defective but in the end turns out it was a very small percentage.

I’ll let you beta testers work out the kinks before I will consider buying this.
