Samsung’s Flow authentication app will soon work with all Windows 10 PCs

Galaxy A5

Samsung will update its Flow app to allow all Windows 10 users to take advantage of its authentication functionality, according to a posting on the app’s Google Play store page.

Samsung first introduced the Android app alongside its recently released Galaxy TabPro S two-in-one. The app allows TabPro S to users to unlock the computer using the fingerprint scanner on a Samsung Galaxy smartphone. Currently, this functionality only works in conjunction with the TabPro S.

However, it appears Samsung will expand the feature, which is built on Microsoft’s Windows Hello API, to work with any Windows 10 device when the Windows 10’s Creators Update comes out later this year.

“Samsung Flow is compatible with TapPro S [sic] now,” says the company in response to a complaint about the app’s non-existent support for any device other than the Galaxy TabPro S. “But it will support all Windows 10 PCs from Windows 10’s next major update (estimated early April).”
