Apple has released its first trailer for ‘Planet of the Apps,’ a series that marks the company’s entry into the TV content game.
The reality TV show is hosted by Zane Lowe and features advisers Jessica Alba, Gwyneth Paltrow, serial entrepreneur Gary Vaynerchuck and will.i.am.
Vaynerchuck owns a digital media agency and sports-focused agency in addition to holding a significant investment background, while the celebrities all have personal entrepreneurial experience — Jessica Alba owns Honest Company, Gwyneth Paltrow owns Goop and will.i.am has a variety of ventures under his belt including iPhone accessory development and involvement with other startups.
Contestants pitch their apps to the panel of celebrity advisers and, much like in popular singing show The Voice, the advisers then choose a team to work with. After developing the app further, contestants then pitch to Lightspeed Venture Partners.
The show is set to debut this spring exclusively on the Apple Music subscription platform.
Apple is also producing Carpool Karaoke: The Series, a spin-off from James Corden’s popular Late Late Show segment, which the company says is “coming soon.”
