Toronto’s first drone fair touches down tomorrow

Drone Fair Ontario is hitting Toronto for the first time tomorrow, November 26th, and running all weekend.

The event is being held at the University of Ontario Institute of Technology and will include a flying demonstration area, a drone race featuring “Ontario’s top FPV racers,” a skills competition and drone-building workshops.

Mark Dixon, the technical team lead of flight operations for Transport Canada, will give the keynote speech. Other speakers include Dr. Angela Schoellig, assistant professor at the University of Toronto’s Institute of Aerospace Studies, and Mark Aruja, chairman of Unmanned Systems Canada.

There will also be a wide array of exhibitors — from Henry’s Camera to Model Aeronautics Association of Canada — and tours of the ACE Center for UAV research, where automotive and aerospace products are tested using climatic wind tunnels.

To cap off the first day’s activities, the event’s website also promises a drone aerial light show.

General admission to the event is $25 (or $20 on Saturday for students and seniors). Tickets are available here.
