DJI officially delays foldable Mavic Pro drone shipments

The DJI Mavic Pro, one of the most interesting drones released in recent memory, has finally been officially delayed following weeks of misleading statements from DJI.

DJI has issued an official apology to its customers, acknowledging that “ramping up production to full speed at top quality took longer than planned.” DJI says that the delay mainly stems from an issue related to integrating a specific part into the mass production process, delaying the Drone’s shipment to customers by a number of weeks. The company also says that demand for the drone has been higher than expected, which has made it difficult for the company to get the production process back on track.

The new shipping date for the Mavic Pro is unclear, but the company does state that it’s doing its best to clear all orders recieved before November 3rd, 2016 at some point within the next “seven to eight weeks.” This means that if you ordered the drone before Christmas, it’s likely that you could still get it soon.

In late September, action camera manufacturer Go Pro finally officially launched its compact Karma drone, the Mavic’s main competitor in the high-end but still portable drone space.
