Pokémon Go schedules first in-game event for Halloween

It seems Niantic is finally starting to launch Pokémon Go features fans have been asking for.

The company has announced that between October 26th and November 1st, Ghost and Psychic Pokémon, including Drowzee, Gastly, Gengar, Golbat, Haunter, Hypno, and Zubat (because you probably already have 100s of Zubats already…) are going to appear more frequently in the game.

Along with increased chance to catch the above Pocket Monsters, players will also get extra in-game candy for each Pokemon caught.

“During this period, every Pokémon caught will earn Trainers six Candies — twice the normal amount. The professor will also give Trainers two Candies instead of one for every Pokémon transferred to him. In addition, Buddy Pokémon will award four candies instead of the usual one. Pokémon Candies enable Trainers to evolve or strengthen their Pokémon, so players will want to walk and catch all the Pokémon they can to get their fill of Candy during this special event,” reads a recent press release sent out by Niantic.

While Pokémon was extremely popular back in July during its initial launch month, the game’s player base and overall buzz has died down considerably due to a lack of new features and general in-game issues.

Pokémon Go is available on iOS and Android for free with in-app purchases.
