VR and more importantly, the Force, is set to come to Walt Disney resorts in the near future in the form of Star Wars-themed virtual reality rides.
Epic Games co-founder Tim Sweeney announced today that Disney is working on Star Wars VR rides for its various parks. This is one of a number of Star Wars focused VR projects currently in the works, with Star Wars: Trials on Tatooine for the HTC Vive recently dropping and a new experience based on Rogue One headed to PlayStation VR in the near future. Industrial Light and Magic’s VR-focused division is also working on a VR film focused on Darth Vader as well.
Last week Disney announced a partnership with Oculus to create new VR experiences based on its properties, though the content isn’t set to hit the Facebook-owned headset until later this year.
