The LG V20 will sound great with wired headphones

It looks like LG is not content to only release the first phone to include Android Nougat.

In a press release sent out this morning, the South Korean company announced that its next smartphone, the Android Nougat-powered V20, will also be the first device to feature a 32-bit Quad DAC.

Short for digital-to-analog converter, DAC chips are found in almost all electronics that involve sound output. Like the name implies, the tech takes a digital audio signal and convert it in to an analog one. For consumers with decent wired headphones, music and video coming from the V20 will sound better than competing smartphones.

According to LG, the DAC set to ship inside of the V20 will come from ESS, the same company that provided the V10’s DAC. While we didn’t get the V10 in Canada, the smartphone got solid reviews in the U.S., with a couple of publications noting its audio quality as outstanding.

With the V20 potentially set to feature a dual camera setup, it looks like LG plans to ship the ultimate multi-media phone.

LG is set to fully unveil the V20 at an event in San Francisco, California on September 6th. The company has already confirmed the device will come to Canada.
