iPhone ‘hey Siri’ voice navigation helps save baby’s life

Through a lucky turn of events, Siri, Apple’s voice-activated assistant, has helped save a little girl’s life.

Stacey Gleeson of Cairns, Australia, noticed though a baby monitor that her daughter had turned blue and was not breathing. In a panic, Gleeson dropped her iPhone, but thanks to Apple’s “Hey Siri” feature, she was able to yell, “Hey Siri, call the ambulance,” prompting her mobile phone to immediately dial 911.

“I picked her up and sat down with her on the floor and as I checked her airways .. I looked over and remembered my phone,” said Gleeson in a statement to 7 News.

Gleeson says that she believes the few seconds she saved utilizing “hey siri” could potentially have saved her daughter’s life.

“It might have given the precious moments Stacey needed to revive Giana,” said Mr Gleeson, Stacey Gleeson’s husband, in an interview with 7 News.
