    you’re missing 514, 450 & 819 in Québec! 😉

You added area codes that are not affected by the addition of new aread codes in the near future. 418 and 581 regions will see a new area code added in the near future (digits unknown at this time). I think this is what is meant by “418 and 581” . Of course there are other codes in Quebec (I live in the 819 area myself) but they won’t be affected with this new area code (unless you do a long distance).

      I see … makes sense

Area code 236 became effective in British Columbia three years ago, but so far I haven’t seen any public use of that area code. I’m sure there are people with phone numbers in that area code but it doesn’t show up in advertising or other public places. And we need another area code already?

I’ve had a 236 number for about a year now. Some people have to dial 1 first even though it is a local call.

I remember growing up in NL only dialing 5 digits if the call was in town.

Why are they all random numbers?
Why can’t we get something nicer and easier like 616…787…..etc….

The US uses a bunch of them as well would be my guess
