Testing beta Google Play Store apps just got easier

Google Play Store

Google has started rolling out a new update to the Play Store that greatly streamlines the process for taking part in an app beta.

Once the update hit critical mass (like all of Google’s software updates, this one is gradually rolling out to users across the world server side), developers will no longer have to depend on tools like Google+ to administer their beta tests; instead, they’ll be able to onboard testers directly via the Play Store. That’s because Google’s app marketplace now lets Android users join (and leave) a beta test by simply visiting the store page of the app that’s being tested.

Once in a beta, the updated Play Store also allows Android users to leave feedback directly via an app’s storefront page. The process is the same as writing a review for an already available app, though in this case the feedback doesn’t show up publicly.

Last but not least, the update allows users to more easily track whatever beta software they may be currently using,  making it easier to troubleshoot any software compatibility issues.
