LG announced its next flagship smartphone will arrive at select Canadian carrier and retailers — specifically Bell, Eastlink, Fido, MTS, Rogers, SaskTel, TELUS, Videotron and WIND Mobile — on April 8th.

Depending on the carrier, the phone will be available in silver, titan or pink. What we didn’t know about the G5 was how much it would cost. At the time, the company said “LG G5 pricing to be determined by carriers.” We now know what price pointed the G5 will be pegged at in Canada.

Rogers lists the G5 at $299.99 on a 2-year term and $799.99 outright, while sub-brand Fido revealed similar pricing at $300 on a 2-year and $800 prepaid. Rogers and Fido will carry the silver and titan models.

Update – April 6th: Bell has gone live and listed its pricing for LG G5. As expected, similar to others at 299.99 on a 2-year term and $799.99 outright.

Misleading title, you’re wasting our time rehashing this information…slow news day?

    • jumbo_sly

      poor you

    • RoboBonobo

This is the first time they said the price. They put the rest of the information for people who haven’t been following along. Unless you have a grade 1 reading level, it takes 10 seconds to skim the article for the information you want. If you wasted your own time it’s your problem.

  • AppleBerrySandwich

Meh – I think I would go Samsung. I don’t think it’s water resistant either.

    • Will

the G5 is definitely not water resistant

  • Pokpok

Telus has a SKU in their system for a gift with purchase. It’s the camera grip with increased battery

    • Adam Reinhardt

      this is en fuego

  • Will

Any info released on the price of the modules?

    • Hunter Miller

I think they said $100 for the camera module so around $100 for the modules I would assume

The Nexus 6p so far blows every flagship announced this year out of the water.

    • dc2000

No, you can’t go wrong with the S7/Edge.. IP68 rating is no small deal. You know how often I’m in the rain and don’t use my phone? I’ve had issues with a phone acting up because of rain after a while. The 6P is nice but as much as I hate Samsung(and their pricing), the S7 Edge is what I want. But refuse to pay $1000+unlocking for one and also I have the Priv, that pkb I awesome. Too bad it didn’t have an IP rating!

    • Collin dubya

Where are you going that charges 1000+ to unlock, do it yourself online for 20.00

    • Will

“+unlocking” lol OP’s saying the phone price + unlocking price

    • dc2000

It just hit me, make unlocking $1000 and the phones $50… NO one will switch carriers then! Monopolize the heck out of it! 😉

    • RoboBonobo

If the phone only costs $50 then you don’t have to unlock, just buy another one.

    • RoboBonobo

I’ve read reports that the screen on the S7 and edge breaks easier than other phones like the iPhone 6S. Water resistance is nice and all, but it won’t last with a broken screen.

    • dc2000

I’ve seen at S7 drop from 4 or so feet and no issues, this was on hardwood flooring. Concrete might be another story altogether but I never rock a phone naked. I always buy a big case.

    • acb87

on launch day the samsung store in sherway mall had to cracked s7 on display that had dropped that day . id say the break easier than most phones

    • neo905

The waterproofing apparently makes the weak mono speaker even weaker. Given there is a $300 difference. Just being water proof isn’t enough. That and timely updates from the 6P still make it more compelling. I agree with the OP.

    • dc2000

the speaker on the S7 is loud as it is. Timely updates are great, again not saying the Samsung is the best.. but IP68 rating is something I look for in a phone… hopefully it’ll be the norm in 2-3 years.

    • neo905

What does “loud as it is” mean? It isn’t louder than the S6 or the 6P or M9.

    • dc2000

let’s compare a mono speaker to stereo speakers. Brilliant! 🙂 It’s loud enough to compete with other devices on the market. I played around with it in the store and it’s a great device.

    • neo905

Actually the first comparison in my comment was the same mono speaker of the previous year model, the S6, which by all accounts by reviewers is louder than the new S7.

    • dc2000

I haven’t owned a Samsung device since the Galaxy Nexus.. The only speakers I like are the Apple iPhone 6’s(mind you I hate Apple, and never owned an M9 or P6).

    • Ronald

Never had use for water proofing

    • Tyrone_83

Retail stores make the prices not Samsung. Please educate yourself before making a comment like that.

    • dc2000

Uh, no. Corporate might for that 3rd party but the stores themselves do NOT set pricing, and corporately-owned stores go by what head office sets. Trust me, I’m very much educated when it comes to this. You’re the one who isn’t. Check SSP or SalesCentral next time you’re at a store, unless approved pricing cannot be altered.

    • Tyrone_83

Um…no sorry to break it to chap. Corporate does this and tell the people below them. I know which company or corporate office does a “might”

    • youretard

      6p is a pos

    • Tyrannosaur3464

I bet you have an iPhone, numb nuts

    • dc2000

It’s not that bad of a device. It feels like an older Note 4 in a metaillic body but with stereo speakers… not bad.

    • marshallpower

I bet you can’t beat the S7 Edge camera…and its beautiful bright screen…much more comfortable to hold in my hands for a 5.5″ screen, I will never return to a phablet again I feel, thanks to the S7 Edge. And many options by Samsung are nice to have too. Also…with Samsung, you never need to upgrade to a prettier phone like the Nexus line, they get ugly after a few months only. Or even before I would want to buy one! And I will be able to take pictures with it even during a snowstorm…or in the rain yes like the other person said.

    • Hunter Miller

You realise the s7 edge is a phablet?

    • marshallpower

Doesn’t feel like one at all compared to my Note 2 or the 6P…But I got large hands…

    • josh

      Lol not really.

It’s relative underpowered, it has issues with some apps, the camera lense can sporadically shatter, it’s not very attractive (mostly the camera part), the screen doesn’t look great, no expandable storage, camera is just okay, no wireless charging, and it’s made by Huawei.

It might be the phone for you, but the S7 beats it by a mile for what I need my phone to do.

  • Justin

And that’s a pretty standard 2-year contract price these days…my Note 5 was the same

    • josh

Less expensive than my S7 was, even lol.

  • canali

wonder how much more will be the bang and olusen dac/amp that can also be used as a standalone…$150-$300?…doesn’t look like it will released until a few more months.

  • Curtis K Louis

I’ll be buying this out right.. Not a bad price.. Sd820

  • Freddy Hajoong Jeong

This is more reasonable price with 2 year contract. GalaxyS7/Edge is ridiculous

    • GNS

Holy hell, $500 on a 2 year contract for S7 Edge??

    • Freddy Hajoong Jeong

      yeah!

    • GNS

Samsung is out of their minds, it’s not an iPhone.

  • JMG

Good deal. I think LG will be giving a charging cradle and an extra battery with it..the only thing i like about the s7 is ip68 certified.but after thinking about it i never wet my phones before..so yeah LG G5 this year.

    • GNS

This is only in the US, Canada gets the camera attachment. I’d prefer the extra battery and charging cradle over that….

  • Achtius

Can you get this phone unlock anywhere?

    • Adam Reinhardt

if you buy it from the Samsung Experience Stores outright it comes unlocked(they send you the unlock code), doubt third party unlockers have it included just yet.

  • blueadept1

I’m seeing Bell listed as $749.99 outright. Am I missing something?

    • LadeeDa

you are correct, that’s bell’s price. unfortunately, you won’t get that price anywhere online like best buy as they now no longer advertise the prices without contract
