CanCon Podcast Ep. 6: Is Jim Balsillie right about Canadian tech?

This week’s episode of the CanCon podcast is filled with tough questions.

Questions about the future of the Canadian tech economy, and whether interest from the U.S. tech elite is beneficial or pernicious (guess which side Jim Balsillie is on). Questions about the responsibility of tech startups to their employees, and whether millennials are too entitled, or just more inclined to call BS on bad actors in the ecosystem (our millennial-heavy panel was conflicted). Questions about whether or not Patrick will ever recover from a week in Barcelona for MWC (highly unlikely).

Tune in as the CanCon podcast team – Erin Bury, Managing Director of 88 Creative (and former BetaKit Managing Editor), Patrick O’Rourke, Senior Editor of MobileSyrup, and special guest Chris Plunkett of Communitech – answers all questions and poses one for you: is Talia Jane a sympathetic individual or not? Email us, post a comment below with the answer, or better yet, rate CanCon 5-stars on iTunes and post your answer there.

I’m not a fan, but he’s right this time.

Balsillie is simply interested in rehabilitating his crappy image after he and that other slob Lazaridis ran Blackberry into the ground. I find it amusing that he feels qualified to pontificate on these matters when we all know what his agenda is. Which is to say who cares what he thinks. Few do.

He is the boy who cried wolf.. no one believes him anymore after what he did to Blackberry AKA RIM.

“CanCon” ? Thorsten Heins is another great candidate – he should speak about his great con
