The ZTE Axon Pro has become the latest Android device to be updated to the newest version of Google’s operating system.

In addition to adding the standard set of Marshmallow features like Now on Tap and Doze, ZTE says there’s also a reworked app drawer skin for Axon Pro owners to check out. According to the company’s blog post on the subject, the redesigned drawer now pins a user’s most used apps to the top of the screen. It also incorporates faster alphabetical scrolling.

The update comes in at 835MB, and can be downloaded by navigating to the “System Updates” section of the phone’s settings menu.

Unfortunately, the more affordable Axon, which is available on Fido for $0 on a two year contract, is still stuck on Android 5.1.1 for the foreseeable future. Neither ZTE nor Fido have said when that device will be updated to 6.0.1.

The ZTE Axon Pro is available off contract through online retailer Newegg.

the device that you guys reviewed is probably the only Axon Pro in Canada that went out of Newegg’s warehouse. So congratulations to you guys for the update.

Did your phone get it yet?

Lol, which phone? My Nexus 6 has MM already. But the OnePlus two doesn’t. I didn’t buy the axon pro. I want to buy a nexus 6P but I don’t think it’s worth the upgrade (and price difference) from my N6. Prices of my 64Gb N6 are about 400-450 on ebay. So dropping 500 more for the 6P is not really worth the updated features on the 6P (compared to the N6) in my opinion.

      I thought you had a Samsung…

No, I tried the S6 for a couple of weeks. Great phone but I went back to the N6. Wasn’t too found of its small size.

Another OEM beats Samsung at Marshmallow release!

In deed, it makes you think twice as to why has taken this long to Samsung to release that update. I would have expected a better turn around from such a giant.
