German tech website WinFuture, citing unnamed sources within the German retail space, is reporting Samsung plans to release a variety of first-party accessories alongside its new lineup of flagship phones, the Galaxy S7 line.

The full list can be seen below, but the most significant thing to note here is that, taking a page from Apple, the company appears intent on releasing a case that includes a 2,700mAh auxiliary battery. Also interesting is the fact that Samsung reportedly plans to sell another keyboard case like the one we saw make its way to market alongside the Note 5 and edge+. If you need a reminder of what that case looked like, gaze below.

A user on the SamMobile forums posted what they claim are a set of wallpapers that ship with the phone.

In typical Samsung fashion, the wallpapers make heavy use of gradients, abstract shapes and feature a lot of blue. In all, 13 wallpapers were uploaded to the website for other forum users to download.

Samsung’s Mobile World Congress press conference is scheduled for February 21.

  • It’s Me

Hope you are wearing flame retardant clothes today Igor.

    • FlamesFan89

You called it, look at all the vitriol in this comment section…

      oh wait. 😉

  • Mo Dabbas

“If you need a reminder of what that case looked like, gaze below.” — I looked there and my eyes started burning. Damn that case is ugly.

  • Brad Fortin

A battery case with a capacity smaller than the device? Surely Android fans will rip this apart as quickly as they did Apple’s battery case for the exact same reason. /s

    • FlamesFan89

I think most people’s issue with Apple’s offering is how god awful ugly it was.

    • Brad Fortin

Not like Samsung’s cases are any prettier. Look at that keyboard case.

    • FlamesFan89

I didn’t say they are prettier. That keyboard case is hideous.

    • Brad Fortin

No, what you did was change the topic from battery capacity to looks so you could bash Apple, as you love to do.

    • FlamesFan89

I wasn’t changing the topic to bash Apple, I was correcting you on your fabricated controversy. I had a skim through the comments on the MobileSyrup article regarding the Apple battery case. I didn’t see any comments regarding the capacity of the case. I sure did see a whole lot of comments about how ugly the case was.

Note that it was you, not me, who brought up the Apple case.

Essentially, you made up a battery capacity complaint, that doesn’t exist, so that you could bash Android fans, as you love to do. All I did was point out your error.

    • Brad Fortin

You make it sound like MobileSyrup is the only website where people leave comments. There are plenty of people who complained about the Apple battery case, you just have to frequent more than one website or watch YouTube reviews.

Yes, I brought up the Apple battery case, but only to talk about its capacity, not its looks. You did that on your own.

    • FlamesFan89

Why are you complaining on MobileSyrup about people that aren’t on MobileSyrup? We are on MobileSyrup, commenting on a MobileSyrup article, it stands to reason that you would be talking about MobileSyrup readers.

Next, you seem to think I changed the topic, but you don’t seem to understand the concept of a topic. The topic you brought up was the complaints of Android fans, and claimed those complaints were about battery capacity. Within that topic, I corrected you that the complaints were not about capacity, but about looks.

    • Brad Fortin

There are people who visit more than 1 website, who also happen to visit this website. Apparently you’re not one of those people. I don’t like to pretend that MobileSyrup is in a bubble, secluded from the outside world, but suit yourself, we’ll pretend MobileSyrup is the only place in the world where these things are talked about.

Your “correction” is a topic change. The topic was battery capacity, and the reaction to battery capacity, but you changed it to looks, which is a different topic and a strange thing to bring up considering we haven’t even seen what Samsung’s battery case looks like yet.

A better analogy would be if I was talking about a player’s stats and you started talking about their jersey.

    • FlamesFan89

It doesn’t matter what others were saying on other sites. We aren’t on other sites. We are on MobileSyrup. If you have issues with the complaints of people at other sites, take it up with the people on those other sites.

Again, you are completely incorrect on what the topic actually is. The complaint you brought up WITHIN the topic is that Android fans complained about battery capacity. I corrected you that no they complained about the looks.

We are both talking about complaints, because the topic is complaints, not battery capacity.

Your analogy first off, makes no sense at all. My analogy actually describes the situation. But even still, your analogy doesn’t actually support your argument, because in it, the topic is fans not liking the sub. One person has an opinion on why the fans don’t like the sub, and the other person is pointing out what the fans complaint really was. It isn’t changing the topic, it is pointing out the reality of what the fans’ opinion was, which is the actual topic.

Face it man, you don’t have a leg to stand on here.

If someone says 1+1 =4, and the other says, actually, 1+1=2, it doesn’t mean they are changing the topic from “4” to “2”. They are simply correcting the statement.

    • Brad Fortin

Alright, you want to keep pretending MobileSyrup exists in a bubble and no other sites exist on the entire Internet, and that numbers on a spec sheet and physical looks are the same topic, go ahead, I’m done.

    • FlamesFan89

I’m not pretending anything. I’ve made it very clear that when you are on MobileSyrup, commenting on a MobileSyrup article, when you make a statement about people’s opinions, it is safe to assume that are referring to the opinions that have been voiced here at MobileSyrup. If you aren’t, that’s fine, but you should know that what I just stated here is true, i.e. that typically, my assumption is a correct one.

Secondly, you are still wrong about a topic change. The topic you brought up was “the opinion of Android fans”. You made a statement about those thoughts, and I corrected you on it. Nothing more.

Here’s a question for you, please describe what the topic is in the following sentence:
“Hockey fans hate Gary Bettman because he raised league revenues”.

    • Comrade Yeti

To be fair, the bulk of criticism of the Apple case was about looks, not the capacity. People pick on Apple a lot here, but not in this case.

    • Do Do

Do you EVER rip Apple? Even when they deserve it? Not once. This, like apple’s case is stupid. That’s how it’s done. Try it some time. Between you and It’s me, your “fanboyism” comical.

    • Brad Fortin

I do rip on Apple, but I don’t go off-topic just for the sake of ripping on them, and right now the topic is Samsung’s battery case, not Apple’s.

    • FlamesFan89

Then why did you bring up the topic “Android fan complaints”.

    • Brad Fortin

I didn’t bring up “Android fan complaints”, I brought up “complaints about battery capacity”, the key portion of which is “battery capacity”. If you’re not going to be addressing battery capacity you’re going off-topic, again.

    • FlamesFan89

You brought up “Android fans’ complaints about the Apple battery case”. On that topic, you stated that their complaint was the capacity. The complaint was in fact the look, and not capacity.

    • FlamesFan89

Here, allow me to placate you so that your feelings don’t get hurt:

“A battery case with a capacity smaller than the device? Surely Android fans will rip this apart as quickly as they did Apple’s battery case for the exact same reason.”

Android fans here at MobileSyrup did not rip apart Apple’s battery case on the basis of battery capacity, they did however have other complaints which we won’t talk about, lest someone’s feelings are hurt.

    • Brad Fortin

Again, MobileSyrup does not exist in a bubble. There are websites other than MobileSyrup where people leave comments. Do you have the web equivalent of xenophobia or something?

    • FlamesFan89

Nope, but why are you changing the subject?

  • h2oflyer

Knock off one S7 rumor….no large battery, probably below 2900 mah.

  • Matt

So what Samsung is actually saying why they’ll sell a battery case along side the S7 is because the S7 will have terrible battery life that’s why the need for a battery case. Gotta see their motive behind that.

  • GPman

Seems strange with a device that is supposed to have 17hrs of video capability. Odd to push great battery life and a need for a case.

  • Do Do

Last decent phone Samsung had was the Note 4. What makes me laugh is the rumour they bringing back an sd card. So, they take away sd card and copy Apple’s bad and ugly idea on a battery case and will sell it to fanboys who think they’re getting more in in fact they’re getting less. Comical. For those slow on the up take. They had the sd card and took it away, so you’re not getting anything and they’re telling you you can buy a battery case because it clearly won’t have enough capacity without a case. So they’re going to spin a negative into a positive and people why buy it. LOL.

Next they’ll take away the home button and give it back in a future version and pretend you’re getting something new. pfff

    • FlamesFan89

To be fair, Samsung hasn’t made any official announcements or advertisements yet, so it’s a little disingenuous to say that they are pretending that they are giving people something new by putting back in the SD slot.

Now, if they market it that way, by all means, take them to task. But they could just as easily say something along the lines of “our customers spoke, and we listened, so we have put an SD slot back in.” and I think that is fair. They gambled, it wasn’t received well, so they went back. I don’t see why that’s an issue.

As for battery capacity, I agree that it is at best “strange” to claim great battery life, then market a backup case. Those are conflicting stories they are telling.
