HTC is reportedly preparing to unveil its next smartphone, the One M10, a device internally known as ‘Perfume.’
According to recent rumours uncovered by VentureBeat, the One M10 is set to follow-up last year’s One M9. The smartphone will reportedly be powered by Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow, come equipped with HTC’s new Sense 8.0 UI, run Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 chip, and feature an Adreno 530 GPU.
Speculation also indicates the HTC One M10 will feature an improved 5.1-inch 1440 x 2560 pixel QHD display, a significant step above the M9’s 1080 x 1920 screen.
Reputable device leaker Evan Blass received details about HTC’s upcoming flagship and reports the One M10 will feature a fingerprint scanner, 4GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage, and replace the 20 megapixel camera featured in the One M9 with a rear-facing 12MP ultrapixel sensor, optical image stabilization and laser-assisted autofocus.
One omission from the One M10 over previous flagship smartphones is front-facing stereo speakers and BoomSound, which HTC reportedly opted not to include in the M10 because it would make the device too tall. BoomSound speakers were left out of the One A9, released in Canada late last year,.
HTC will not be unveiling the One M10 at Mobile World Congress next month and will reportedly make an announcement at a later date.
