500px to help host Toronto’s first Accessible Photowalk

Toronto Accessible Photowalk

500px, Henry’s and Access Toronto have teamed up to bring Toronto its first accessible photowalk.

Set to go down this Saturday between 3PM and 5PM (just as that sweet golden hour makes its appearance), the walk will start at Yonge-Dundas Square and work its way through the downtown core. It will be led be Evgeny Tchebotarev, one of the co-founders of 500px, as well as Maayan Ziv, founder of Access Now and a notable street and fashion photograph within the city, and Julian Stein, a photographer that writes about what it’s like photographing the world from a wheelchair.

“All of the event is designed to be accessible, and will probably proceed at a slightly slower pace, and the route will be slightly shorter than normal,” says Tchebotarev. You also don’t need to pack a professional grade DSLR to take part; Tchebotarev says the event is open to everyone, no matter what kind of camera one uses as a primary shooter.

If the concept of this photowalk doesn’t sound enticing enough, then there’s also the chance to walk away with some awesome swag. In particular, one photographer will win a X-T10 camera kit from Fujifilm. Participants will also be able to win $800 worth of gear from Henry’s, and five Awesome accounts from 500px.
