Suretap partners with Points adding over 100 loyalty cards to its mobile wallet

SureTap

Mobile payment service Suretap website states it “has established relationships with nearly 10 banks, and provided access to 38 different credit cards, and 30 gift cards within the wallet. Physical and online retailers like Cara Foods, Indigo, Cineplex, Forever 21, Facebook and Groupon, have all signed up to participate in the wallet.”

Today, Suretap announced a partnership with Toronto-based Points.com, making the platform the first mobile wallet to integrate loyalty cards into the Canadian market. With the addition of Points, Suretap users are now one step closer to dropping most of the plastic cards in their physical wallet.

In addition to Indigo and Cineplex Scene, Suretap also accepts Aeroplan, Esso Extra, PC Plus Points, Hudson’s Bay Rewards, Starbucks, and WestJet.

“The Suretap mobile wallet is all about making it easier, safer and more rewarding for Canadians to transact in every step of the consumer journey, including getting more out of their relationships with local brands and retailers. By leveraging Points’ loyalty platform in our wallet technology, we’re improving the payment experience for millions of Canadians and providing banks and merchants a more robust way to engage with their customers,” said Jeppe Dorff, president of Suretap, in a statement to MobileSyrup.

Mobile payments is still a relatively new concept in Canada. It’s expected that Apple Pay, the current dominant mobile payment platform in the United Stats, will shake up the industry when it launches in Canada before the end of the year.
