How to turn off auto renew in Apple Music

Apple Music was officially unveiled during WWDC 2015 on June 8 before becoming widely available in several countries across the world, including Canada, on June 30.

To attract users from competing services like Spotify, Apple gave everyone that signed up for Apple Music a free three-month trial. For early adopters, that trial is set to expire tomorrow, September 30th. The fine print within the app’s settings tab states that the service is set to automatically renew. For those who want to continue to use Music, you’ll be charged either $9.99 per month (or $14.99 for the family plan) to the same credit card that’s connected to your iTunes account.

However, for those that want to unsubscribe from the service, follow these steps:

1. Open the Music app.
2. Tap the head icon located at the top left of the app to access your account.
3. Tap “View Apple ID”.
4. Under “Subscriptions” tap “Manage”.
5. Tap “Apple Music Membership”.
6. Under “Renewal Options”, swipe the toggle next to “Automatic Renewal” from on to off.
7. Then to ensure you will not be charged tap “Done”.

That’s it, your credit card won’t be charged if the trial period left you unimpressed.
